I have an area that never gets sunshine, but needs a solar light. This resolved my issue. It has good battery life on those cloudy days. The remote makes it very convenient too. It was pretty easy to install and did not take too much time.

This outdoor solar rechargeable motion sensor light is on the cheaper end of quality but it does work as intended. The front side of the main unit or light is not waterproof so be sure to face the light downward to avoid water getting in. Upon opening the main unit (SeePic), I noticed that the manufacturer soldered directly to the 18650 cell and did not use the appropriate spot welded tabs for soldering. (Cost cutting and potentially dangerous) I tested the capacity of the 18650 and it only delivered 1,484mAh at a 300mA drain to 2.8 volts where as the sellers page states 1,800mAh. This is not a huge deal being it is recharged daily but the run time of the light will be shorter. The array of LEDs draws over 1 amp with a fully charged battery but tapers down as the voltage of the battery falls so your looking at less than 2 hours of continuous bright light. Because the light draws more than what I tested the battery at, the capacity will be alot less than what I got because it's pulling the power out quicker.

Over the years I’ve accumulated quite the collection of solar lights, some good some bad. So my review is going to be based on my short term use. I only ask a few things from a solar light. One, it turns on when you walk by it, without having to jump up and down in front of it. Two it produces a clear light with no dead spots and wide coverage. On all accounts this light passes the test. The MimPea comes with some nice features, such as The light comes with a remote control, and while I never really thought that this was a necessity, I’m kind of liking it. Most lights you set and forget. So if for some reason you do want to change the settings you have to climb up to the light and make the changes (Total pain) with the remote you just press a button and it’s done. Waterproofing to IP65. I’ve seen lights with lesser ratings and trust me it’s not worth it, in the long run they will most likely leak. Electronics and water don’t mix well. 16 Ft of cable. It’s not always possible to locate the light and solar panel in the same place. I’ve seen times where the location I wanted for the light was forever in the shade. In this case I needed all 16 ft of cable to get the panel into direct sunlight. 226 LEDs, The light emitted by the MimPea appears clear with no defective LEDs showing. All of the LEDs appear to have the same brightness. Because of the angle of coverage, I would classify this light as a Flood Verses a Spot light. I tested the light out and it performed as advertised. All three light modes worked fine. It survived a heavy downpour and mounting options were plentiful. I’m not seeing anything to be concerned about quality wise. Winter will be here before you know it so we’ll see how it holds up, but I’m not foreseeing any issues.

This light was super easy to install. Attach the brackets for the light and the solar panel, with 2 screws each, then slide the light and solar panel onto the brackets. Very easy and hassle-free. I used my own longer, larger screws for a more secure installation. The supplied screws are small, but they should work well. The wiring connecting the light to the solar panel is very long. You should not have any problem mounting the light in a shaded area, and putting the solar panel in a bright, sunny area for charging. I was able to secure the wiring to my exterior wood siding, under the eaves/facia with 3/8” staples. I put an 1/8” spacer (magnet) on the botton of the staple gun to avoid having the staples crimp the wiring. I put a staple every 12”. This worked very well. I mounted the light in a spot where the light coverage would iluminate a large section of our backyard. The brightness is more than enough for this usage. It’s not as bright as a standard floodlight, but the coverage is wide and, being LED’s, there is minimal shadows. The motion sensor is activated from a long distance, which is very good. I have it set so the light is always on at night, at the low-brightness setting, and the bright setting turns on when motion is detected. This is an excellent light. It is small, so perfect for an area with very little available space. I can recommend this light without hesitation.
