We actually use this for a barrier around an indoor pond that we have to protect toddlers from falling in when they come over. It is fairly sturdy and easy to fold up smaller and move around. However, one thing that makes it more sturdy is that we do not have it standing in a straight line - it would tip too easily for our use. We have it layed out in a zig zag so that if it is "grabbed", it stays up.     • Can span a 6 foot space with overlap at either end. Sturdy for little dogs.

This gate is wood, slightly heavier (not flimsy), and well made. It comes fully assembled and well packed. The hinged sections can fold upon one another to store in a more compact size (e.g. a "thick" quarter section in size). The bottom has smooth plastic grommet bumpers so you won't scratch your wooden floor. It is slightly longer than 6 feet in length so you can span a 6 foot gap and have a little extra on either end if termination need a wall or door frame. We have a 15lb male Cavalier King Charles Spaniel so this is the perfect size and weight to cordon off a section of our home. With that said, I would NOT use this freestanding gate for a larger dog or one that jumps since I am guessing it could be knocked over. Please DO NOT use this gate for a small child. Our cavvy is smart enough to know when this gate is up that he remains on the side he is on. It's heavy enough that he can't move it with his paw to squeeze by like he can with our prior wooden accordion style gates. We can easily swing one of the end section to walk past/through and the swing back in place versus constantly having to step over and risk falling or knocking it over. If you have a need for such a small breed pet gate, consider this one. One final thing. Although we didn't have to use it, the warranty is very cool. If there are any issues with your gate when you open the box, just call the 800 number provided at the end of the manual. They will ship you a replacement free of charge and you do not have to return the original one if it was defective. How about that? Coming out of the box it is easy to set up, and for the most part heavy and aesthetically pleasing. We had to use it as an enclosure stop no, no no no skip as we had a puppy that broke its leg. However, it does not hold up to puppy teeth and he was able to chew through the wooden bars quite easily and we had to reinforce. The pegs that keep it stable. Do a fairly good job And Keep it from being knocked over. However, I don’t recommend it for dogs that like to chew. ... show more

I bought this because my bulldog refuses to sleep through the night unless he sleeps with me or is allowed to sleep on the sofa. He falls asleep in his crate just fine but will wake up whining and barking 2-3x per night (beginning promptly at 2:45a) to go potty. We figured out that this is really just a way to get treats when he finishes or to force me to sleep on the couch with him. I’ll be using the gate (as shown) so that he can go relieve himself on his patio grass and go back to bed or hang out on the patio until I wake up. Saving my sleep and my white couch. After reading the reviews, I was concerned abt the craftsmanship but it came fully assembled with all hinges and screws in tact. The feet fit snug with no gaps and add stability. It’s also pretty stable without the feet of you have a small dog. He can definitely push it if he tries hard enough so I’ll be adding furniture grips to the bottom. One of the bars is bowed a little but other than that it looks good and matches his crate and my decor. Folds up quickly and easily in either direction. You will have to remove the feet in order for it to completely fold flat. Praying he doesn’t figure out how to move it & I get a full night of uninterrupted sleep! ... show more
