I already own a mini chainsaw. It works ok but it looked like this one has better features and more accessories so I decided to give it a try. As it turns out, it's a great little saw and better in several ways than the one I already own. The saw comes in a very nice and sturdy carrying case and everything fits nicely in the case. It comes with two batteries, two chains, eye protection, gloves, a charger, and a little screwdriver (the screwdriver is a bit cheap but does the job). The saw comes fully assembled and the batteries have at least some charge. This means that you can take it out of the case, put on one of the batteries, and fire it right up. There are good safety features. There is a baffle on top of the blade that shifts upwards as you cut through a branch, or whatever you're cutting. There is a hand guard. There's a safety button that must be pressed before pulling the trigger. I tried the saw out on a dead limb, about 5 inches in diameter. It cut it easily and the saw is well balanced and easy to control. This little saw will be very useful in trimming branches and limbs in the yard. cutting old 2X4s into kindling, and cutting branches for firewood when we go camping. The only drawback, and I didn't deduct any stars because it's common on saws in this price range, is that there is no chain oiler on the saw. Sure, it would be handy to have one, but it's a minor inconvenience. It's a very nice saw for the price and for general light use around the yard or campsite it works great. ... show more

To be honest, this is my first electric chainsaw. I am so used to gas chainsaws that when I first picked this up, I was totally in shock on how light it was. It was lighter than some pieces of wood that I have cut. So, I was a little skeptical about how it would perform. Well, I was pleasantly surprised on how well it cut wood especially tree branches. It is really handy if you need to cut small to medium size branches of a tree. I think anyone that owns a farm with trees certainly needs to get this, especially after a severe storm and trees have fallen across your driveway or house. I really like the fact that they include everything that you need to use this chainsaw including gloves, protective safety glasses, an extra chain and a battery and wall charger. Although, it would have been nice to include an extra battery, but I certainly can't complain. If you order the 6" model, it does include 2 batteries instead of just 1. Something to consider. I also like the safety features as well, such as the safety switch and the splash guard. But one feature I really do like is the variable speed switch which is really great when you are cutting different types of trees with different densities in the wood fiber. Oak, walnut, maple, and cherry trees are all hardwood trees so you need to cut slowly through the wood. While douglas fir, pine, cedar, and spruce are all softwood trees so you can cut through them quickly. Overall, a great small and very portable chainsaw that anyone would love to own. Winter storm came through recently and glad I had just gotten this saw. I have another in 8” but it’s bar slips no matter how tight you make it so the chain is always loose. During the storm we had several trees limbs come down and this little saw made quick work of cutting them down to manageable sizes. I’ve got an 18” and 24” chainsaw but both are heavy after a while and kind of awkward trimming branches and limbs at angles. This thing cuts like a champ and just keeps going no matter what I threw at it. My only issues so far with this saw is only one of the two included batteries worked. I tried charging the second one, but it wouldn’t accept a charge either so big strike on quality control for that one as that’s a major problem. Overall I can recommend this saw for cutting but it would have gotten five stars had it not been for the dead, and not chargeable battery. ... show more

As my title indicates, I was a little skeptical of a tool that's not a leading brand most of all a chainsaw. This is my first chainsaw but I'm no rookie when it comes to safety. I liked that it does possess guards but they are on the thin side obviously to maintain the light weight. My initial power-on was on the cautious side but after a few cycles I soon became comfortable with it. I used it on firewood and it cut through it with surprising ease. I appreciate the case as this won't be something I will frequently use. The case is fine, the latches are on the flimsy side. My set came with a second battery, again the material is on the light side. With all the battery issues going on I am keeping a watch on it as well as during charging. My set came with 2 batteries which is a plus since they don't hold a charge for too long. Holding the chainsaw, it feels comfortable in the hand. The guards are in the right place. Quite honestly, for the type of use, it's a pretty good value. But with it's light weight, I won't be tossing it around. I'm happy with it. ... show more
