I finally got to try out the present that Santa brought me for Christmas! I've never used a real power tool before (just an electric screwdriver,) and "I'm just a girl" with very little experience with yard work aside from mowing the lawn. (But I swear I only picked pink because it was cheaper lol.) Now that we've established that I'm a total novice... I really wish I had taken a better "before" photo. We had section of our yard lined with severely overgrown cedar hedges - about 50 feet or so. I was tired of looking at them as well as getting smacked in the face by them when trying to mow around them. They extended anywhere from 10 to 15 feet from the trunks out into the yard. There was no way I was going to attempt this with my husband's corded chain saw, and my shears were no match for these thick branches. I found the set up and use of the saw easy. The chain did need to be tightened before I began. I personally didn't want the top guard thing, so I took it off. I love that this came with two batteries so I never had to pause and wait for a battery to charge while working. Cutting the brush and small/medium limbs was easy - like a hot knife through butter! The larger limbs took a little more work. I'm glad I opted for the six inch! Cutting and clearing took about eight sweaty hours. Due to impending weather, processing the brush into firewood will have to wait for another day. I'm giving this tool five stars, although I found a couple of "negatives." The eye protection goggles seem to be meant for an extra large person. I'm not petite, but those things wouldn't stay on. I used my old computer glasses for eye protection. I did have to put the chain back on a few times. Having a diagram on the saw showing the direction the teeth should point would be extremely helpful. Other than that, I am super happy with this saw!! I would recommend it to anyone looking to tackle a yard work project!! ... show more

    • Difficult but not impossible for left handers to use

The way the button that must be pressed to run the chainsaw is situated for right-handed person to hold easily but I discovered that I could use it by using my palm of my hand over the button compressing it. Not an ideal situation but it worked. It is light weight and that is the most important need. It is reasonable cost and the 2 batteries is great I have not run out of battery charge yet but have used only 2-3 hours at a time. ... show more

I was a bit skeptical of it's durability for the price. I've probably got 12 hours of cutting time on it and it's going great. Get several hours out of a battery charge. Light enough to use and control with one hand.

Nothing to dislike ! Most impressed. My 40 year old gas powered chain saw wouldn’t start and I didn’t want to fight with it . I will eventually get it to start. I was apprehensive of this “ electric “ saw but folks , this is a gem. I expected to wait for it to charge ! Nope both batteries were fully charged when delivered! Really nice case and lord does this saw perform! Look at the pictures. All that trim work was done with this saw on one battery! I am really quite impressed. Find No Negatives . I highly recommend this little Giant especially for the price . Oh and Amazon got it to me next day delivery! ... show more
