    • Game-changer for yard maintenance
I rarely get impressed by "new" tools or tool ideas, but I have to say that this mini-chainsaw definitely made a huge impression on me after using it for just a few minutes. I you have overgrown saplings, small branches, brush, etc. to trim or clear out - get this tool now! You won't regret it. I cannot speak to the long-term reliability, as I've only had it for one day, but so far - so good. Best feature I found was that you can hold the sapling/branch in your non-cutting hand, then use the saw to cut it off where you want. After the cut, you're already holding the piece and can then just toss it over on the brush pile, and move on to the next one. Very efficient. Before, I had to use either a chainsaw or "loppers" to cut smaller wood, and even then, the chainsaw chain would "bounce" around and not cut smaller branches. Loppers worked OK, but they still required both hands to operate. After cutting, you'd have to bend down and pick up the cut piece, and throw it on the brush pile. With this mini-saw, the work goes much, much quicker and easier. I cleared a roughly 150 sq ft area in about 20 minutes, and my arms weren't even beginning to get tired - could have gone on for much longer, but I wanted to get the battery on the charger to see how it was holding up. BTW, it took maybe 30 minutes to fully recharge. Couple of things to consider, however. First, the battery took about 2 1/2 hours to fully charge the first time out of the box. The battery and charger are "old school" technology, but hey - if it works, it works. Second, please be very, very careful and mindful of where your "non-cutting" hand is when you're cutting. Don't get it too close to where the saw chain is. It would be unfortunate if the saw chain slipped a little and your other hand was too close. Consider getting a good pair of Kevlar gloves if you're new to using any kind of chainsaw. When you're ready to start using it, have a small bottle or can or lightweight oil handy, as the saw does NOT have any kind of automatic chain oiler. Just put a few drops all around the chain and gear before using, and periodically re-oil as needed. Lastly, check and adjust the chain tension after the first 15 minutes or so of use. The chain will stretch some. All new chains do. BTW - the included screwdriver for adjusting the chain is "two-way", meaning one side of the tip is a flat tip, and the other side is a cross-tip, which is what you'll need to adjust the chain. I liked this so much that I just now ordered another one. I'll then have an extra battery, two more chains, and extra charger, etc. plus another tool. Should last me quite a while. I plan on having one of them with me when I mow my yard with my riding mower, because I sometimes come across branches, etc. that need trimmed back while I'm mowing, but always forget to go back and trim them. This way, I'll have it with me right on the mower and can take care of those kinds of things on the spot. All in all - I am impressed with this mini-chainsaw. There's literally hundreds of similar saws out there (probably all come from the same place anyway). but this one works well for me (so far - only had it two days though), so I ordered another identical one today. Used it all summer. Works great. You need to keep the chain oiled. I used a squirt bottle filled with chain oil. Battery life is decent. I did have to get another. Mikita battery for replacement. Get the battery and charger combo. I like it. Will need to get new chains for next summer. A shame you can’t sharpen it. ... show more

    • CUTS THROUGH THICK BRANCHES LIKE A CHARM
Had some fruit trees that needed pruning, some with 3 inch branches. This little saw went right through them in no time, easy work. I like that the chain has a guard, and that there is a safety button that must also be pressed after the trigger is pressed to operate. Battery life seems to be good as I didn't have to recharge. Out cutting limbs this afternoon, first time using it and felt it worked really well for about 4 inch limbs or smaller. I did not try larger after reading reviews. Will enjoy using it in the future to see how long battery last. I used it an hour and was good.

My son loved this little saw. It worked great the first 3 times he used it. Then the battery just quit. It would say the battery was charged and it would make the chain turn for a sec or 2 and then just stop completely. I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy this

This is a great little tool to have. It cuts and cuts and keeps going. I've cut up small dead trees like nothing . Zips right through stuff that the weed eater can't cut.i can't recommend this little saw enough. I've cut through limbs probably 6 to 8 inches in diameter
