I bought this primarily to protect the gimbal on my DJI Mini 4 Pro. It did just that, when I attempted to land manually on top of my hard case. I landed no problem, but then the drone slipped off the case and on to the ground. There was a slight nick on the hood that showed it took the brunt of the drop force. Not sure how much sun it will block, and I think it will take a little of the upward camera angle away, but the gimbal is quite fragile on these drones, and it did protect it. ... show more
