Years ago I had a hand-held grinder for salt -- made especially for salt, with a ceramic burr grinding mechanism (anti-rust!) and a simple, elegant means of adjusting the grind. It was lost in a move... and I've missed it. This grinder, however, is as good as or better than the one I've been missing. Its glass base (clear, nicely balanced, easy to clean) is sturdy and well made. The ceramic grinding mechanism is, indeed, easy to adjust, and it delivers what it says it does: the full range from fine grind to coarse. And on top of everything else (literally), the cap keeps the grinding mechanism clean and moisture-free. I'm totally delighted and recommend it to anyone who wants a well-made, reliable salt grinder. (Though you could also use it for pepper, of course!)
