It is battery operated so I don't have to recharge it. I am sure the batteries will last a while since it doesn't take much power to use. It is easy to open, fill, close and use. I love the light!! Solid grinders, but could use more power

I’ve had these salt and pepper grinders for a while now, and overall I like them. Most of the time they work well, but they do clog pretty easily, which means you have to empty and refill them more often than you’d expect. The batteries last a long time, which is great, but needing four batteries for each grinder feels like a lot. As some reviewers mentioned, the motor is definitely underpowered. You can tell when you’re trying to grind something a little tougher. It’s surprising considering how many batteries the grinders use. They still get the job done, but not as smoothly as I’d like. I still use them regularly, but I’m always keeping an eye out for a stronger option that doesn’t require so many batteries. These are good for someone who wants a simple electric grinder and doesn’t mind occasional clogging or lighter grinding power.

I went with both black units as there is a clear area at the bottom to show you whether it is holding salt or pepper. Work well and have an adjustable grind size on the bottom ot the unit. Comes with twwo brushes to clean the units and a countertop holder to keep them orgaznized.
