  • Most reasonable price I found anywhere!
Primary use will be utilizing Milwaukee 1/2 " Hammer Drill for an ice auger for ice fishing.

  • Excellent build quality and great battery life
This drill is the real deal. It is made to last and will do everything you need to do with a drill. It has tremendous power and the battery life is awesome. I keep my drill in my truck to have it handy all the time.

  • Milwauke quality as expected.
Four old worn out corded drills sit on my workbench waiting disposal. This one will fill the void they leave in my tool kit. The Milwaukee FUEL line is phenomenal.

  • Capable, but too loud and...
I have a lot of Milwaukee power tools, corded and cordless, and I have been using them for decades. Most of them are my go-to choices. This drill will not be a go-to choice; it is too unpleasant to use in general. I imagine I will only use it when I need extra torque or small size. ( I have an older 14.4 volt Milwaukee cordless that is sweet to use. And an older M12 cordless "screwdriver" that's also smooth. And corded hole-shooters, both 3/8 and 1/2 inch, powerful but smooth. ) I won't return this drill to Amazon because it is just what I ordered, but I underestimated how much appreciate smooth operation and want to share that knowledge. What is the difference; why is this new drill unpleasant? I believe we pay a heavy penalty for the clever keyless chuck. And more than a single penalty. You don't need a chuck key, but unlike my older 14.4 cordless, on which you twist two pieces against each other, for this drill you need only one hand and no key ( DeWalts behave the same way.) To make that work, you need a physical gear train and some clever inner parts, but it's the gear train that screams when you use the drill, not the motor. And in addition, you can't turn the chuck by hand when using the drill, which is surprisingly inconvenient. For many kinds of drill bits, like brad point wood bits, you can't see just where the drill point contacts the work unless you rotate the bit a little so the spur is not in your line of vision. And, surprisingly, there are times when you want to turn the bit by hand, even backwards to check centering, or slowly forward to make sure everything is set. You can't do any of that with this Milwaukee drill; if you try to turn the chuck by hand it locks or unlocks the bit but it doesn't turn. And it's really difficult to use the motor to turn the bit only a quarter turn; it leaps into action. The gear case also makes it trickier to start up smoothly and easily than with my older 14.4; the powerful little motor on this M18 "fuel", hooked to the tight little gear train, wants to scream into action, not ease into action. It's too bad. The drill delivers on what it claims: high torque, good battery life, good balance. I just don't need a drill that screams ( not quite as loud as a DeWalt, which in my experience has the same problem for the same reason. ) I easily have a dozen Milwaukee power tools, for reference, and quite a few Makitas. ... show more

  • Old Batteries and paid too much - UPDATED READ BEFORE YOU BUY
Bought it for $225 went on sale two days later for $183. Contacted the seller, they did reply but played stupid, no joy. Do yourself a favor and wait for the price to drop from the $200 range. Also, The batteries are over 1.5 years old. I am going to call Milwaukee and make sure they will warranty this unit from the purchase date, if not I will return. Also, I have found out that Milwaukee has a huge problem with their chargers making noise. Not bad in a shop environment, but for charging in your house is a no go. Very loud high pitch squeal that can be heard from two rooms down. This problem is all over youtube so I assume its normal. I would not buy this again and will probably end up having to return. UPDATE: I talked with Milwaukee.. Amazon is not an authorized seller of their product and they will not warranty anything bought from them. Dewalt does not have this issue, I know this from experience. ... show more
