The rod is really easy to use and carry around. It is very lightweight and small, so fits in a backpack then you can expand it when you are ready to use it. The most portable rod I've ever had! I have taken this on many fresh water fishing trips and have enjoyed using it. No issues after over 2 years of using this rod and have caught many Bluegills and Catfish with it! The reel is smooth and it's pretty easy to tell when you have a bite. Nothing has broken, the rod is surprisingly sturdy for the price. The one warning I would note is this is not a good option for larger fish or saltwater fishing on a boat. I haven't tried that with this rod, but assume it will not hold up. This rod was terrible! Poor casting every time. Rod sections kept turning and tangling line. Line tangled every cast. Line broke many times, many weights and hooks were lost. The reel was difficult to use. I would not recommend this fishing rod for any use!

After a long winter season being cooped up indoors for most of the time, I realized I need to get out more to keep myself sane. Now that the weather is getting warmer, I wanted to get back to one of my favorite pastimes which is fishing. My old rod was in really bad condition so I knew it was time for an upgrade. I was interested in getting a quality yet simple fishing rod that would fit within my budget. What I liked about this rod was its portability. The whole fishing rod and tackle fit in a small bad with a shoulder strap. This definitely beat lugging around my old heavy fishing kit from the car all the way to the end of the dock. Second, the reel is super smooth and responsive. It is probably due to the quality of bearings that it comes with. Despite the rod being telescopic, it is very keen when it comes to detecting the smallest fish nibbling. For my use of fishing for Smallmouth Bass and Sunfish, this rod makes it easy. I take my family fishing with me and even the youngest ones who have no prior fishing experience were able to feel when a fish has bit and was ready to be reeled in. ... show more

Took this rod to the bahamas because it was small enough to fit jn my suitcase. The reel is poorly built, so anything bigger than a bluegill is going to mess it up. The rod legitimately SNAPPED at the bottom eye when I was fighting a fish, so I have now given it to some kid on the beach that lives here...poor quality, but convenient for what it is I guess ... show more
