  • Amazing home gym.
I recently purchased the Mikolo M4 Smith Machine for my home gym, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. This equipment has exceeded my expectations in every way, making it an absolute essential for anyone serious about their fitness journey. First and foremost, the build quality of the Mikolo M4 Smith Machine is outstanding. The sturdy steel construction ensures durability and stability, allowing for intense workouts without any wobbling or safety concerns. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of this machine, from the smooth movements of the bar to the solid feel of the weight plates. The versatility of the Mikolo M4 is another standout feature. With its multifunctional design, I can perform a wide range of exercises to target different muscle groups effectively. Whether it's squats, bench presses, lunges, or shoulder presses, this machine offers endless possibilities for a full-body workout. The adjustable height settings and safety catches make it suitable for users of all fitness levels, providing peace of mind during intense training sessions. One aspect that sets the Mikolo M4 Smith Machine apart is its smooth and efficient Smith bar system. The bar glides effortlessly along the guide rods, allowing for precise and controlled movements. I particularly appreciate the counterweight system, which reduces the overall resistance during exercises and enhances the feeling of safety and control. Furthermore, the Mikolo M4 Smith Machine includes various attachments and accessories, such as a pull-up bar and cable pulley system, expanding the exercise options even further. The pulleys are smooth and provide consistent resistance, making it easy to target specific muscles and achieve a well-rounded workout. Lastly, I must commend Mikolo's customer service. From the moment I placed my order until the machine was delivered, the communication and support were exceptional. The packaging was sturdy and ensured that all components arrived in perfect condition. In conclusion, the Mikolo M4 Smith Machine is an outstanding addition to any home gym. Its robust construction, versatility, and smooth operation make it a worthwhile investment for fitness enthusiasts of all levels. I highly recommend this equipment to anyone looking to take their workouts to the next level. ... show more

  • It's really sturdy, I like it a lot!
Building it was a great time, the instructions are very straightforward, I really appreciate how each part is numbered so you know exactly where they go. They also provide all of the tools for each step of the instructions, which I really loved about this. My biggest fear when shopping for one of these was putting it together, but they made it really easy. The whole build took my dad and I roughly two nights after work to complete, which is great for a giant home workout machine! I posted a video with a small close up of it, I think it's incredibly sturdy and well built. Specific things I like about it: - I really like the safety features of the bar, I feel very safe pushing my max weight knowing there's a guard there to watch out for me. - The pulleys are great for doing all sorts of exercises, just having those alone with the customizable height means I can do tons of workouts with just those. - The pull-up bar has several different ways you can grip it which is helps work different parts of your back - There are hooks to hang your stuff on and several plate holders, giving the machine an incredibly compact look, I love how little space it takes up for an entire gym in one! After using it for several weeks my verdict is that I'm very happy I canceled my gym membership for this! Before we got this I went to the gym several nights a week, I always hated having to actually drive somewhere to go workout and was looking for something like this. I did the math on this versus my gym membership and not only am I saving a half hour each day in driving alone, but this thing is gonna pay itself off in only a few years! Serious bang for your buck here for people who work 40 hours a week and want to workout afterwards without losing all of their free time. You can choose when to workout, how you want to do it, and you don't even have to drive home afterwards you can get right in the shower! Notes: Don't mind the clutter, were still renovating the basement. Also in my video I outfitted it with some of my workout gear already so ignore the pad on the bar and the red clips on the ends of the bar. Though I highly recommend them to those who lift weights :) ... show more

Color: Black Size: M4 2.0 Elite Package (with Black BP230lbs)
After spending a couple of weeks reviewing various machines, I ordered the M4 2.0 with weight stacks and plates. Took about a week for all of the boxes to arrive and 3 evenings after work to assemble it. Roughly 8 to 10 total hours. Biggest challenge is locating the pieces to this puzzle when parts are cattered in different boxes. As you progress and start breaking down boxes, it gets easier. This machine is a great value for what you get. Sturdy, stable and smooth operation. I'm thoroughly satisfied with this product and glad I got the unit with both the weight stacks and plates for the versatility in training. Customer Service was 100% satisfactory. I messed up the cable routing on one side, inadvertently running the cable underneath instead of over the top channel and it quickly chafed the cover at first use. I notified Customer Service, acknowledging my mistake and asked where I could buy a new cable. They sent me one under warranty at no charge. Be patient when getting replacement parts as I believe they may come from overseas. It took a while to get here but I do have it and my machine is fully functional. ... show more

  • Big Improvement
I recently upgraded from the Mikolo F4 Power Cage to the M4 Smith Machine, and I'm happy to report that this is well worth the price difference! Much of this review will compare the 2 experiences, but will also talk about overall satisfaction. I mainly upgraded for the dual cables so I can do chest fly's, but also because I'm somewhat interested in the Smitch Machine for added variation to a bunch of exercises. Pro's: 1. Packaging is a massive improvement. Not sure if they took feedback from others about how bad the packaging was on the F4 Power Cage and fixed everything, or you just get better packaging with the higher price tag of the M4. The F4 Power Cage was packaged rather loosely, one of the packages of bolts split open and there were lots of dings and punctures in the bozes themselves. I was very concerned that small pieces may have been lost. By contrast, this M4 Smith Machine's parts were wrapped in a kind of durable, stringy packaging bag, and they had stiff cardboard pieces inside the box to protect from punctures. Well done Mikolo! Keep in mind to expect it to ship in 4 boxes even if you only get one shipping number - I got one box one day and the other 3 the following day. 2. Cable Weight Slider is a big improvement. The F4 Power Cage cable weight slider was lifted on a square metal track with plastic wheels that were a little loose and would sometimes pop off a little bit. The M4 Smith Machine weight sliders are each on 2 cylindrical tracks, and they run very smoothly. Keep in mind that due to the design and pulley weight reduction, the total weight will be halved when you use it. 3. Assembly instructions are massively improved over the F4 Power Cage. The M4 Smith Machine instructions are incredibly clear and helped make it reasonably quick. Pro tip: use a power drill (not impact driver) on low torque with the clutch at like a 13 (mid-high) to get it mostly tight then finish with a socket wrench - 17mm socket is what you need. Only 4 bolts were in a place that were unreachable with that setup and needed the tiny wrench. 4. Cable Wheels seem like they'll be much better. The F4 Power Cage cable would frequently pop off the wheel if you pulled down at a slight angle and it was a pain to get back on - this seems like it won't have that problem. 5. I love the height of this, which still fits in my garage! I'm 6 feet tall, and I can dangle with my feet only slightly raised. With the F4 Power Cage, I needed to bend my knees at 90 degree angles. 6. I assembled the Smith Machine with the safety hooks at the bottom, but I may have to remove since I plan to use it for hip thrusts. Luckily it's really simple to remove if I need to. Con's 1. The holes on the front posts for the J Hooks/pulley slider are not number labeled, which I'm finding frustrating. 2. The attachments for the front post holes don't go in as cleanly as the F4 Power Cage, just a minor inconvenience. 3. The metal protector on the pulley ball on the handle side really grinds on the metal casing for the pivoting cable wheels when you first pull the cable down. Not sure if this is going to cause problems down the line, but I'll keep an eye on it. 4. I wish there was more weight storage - I plan to look into adding some to the other side of each of the 6 holders running up the back. Overall I'm very pleased with the upgrade. The new workouts that this has opened up are already hitting some previously unbothered assister muscles. I was between this and the Major Lutie with the same design, I went with Mikolo because it was slightly cheaper (got it for $1,200) it included leg holders for lat pull down, and the dip bars look more trustworthy to me. ... show more

  • Incredible Value!
I'm so glad I came across this in my search for setting up a home gym. It is very sturdy and has a huge amount of exercises you can do with it. Front to back it is very rigid but it does move a bit side to side if you try. The only real negatives I have to say is that it is packaged in a way that it will get banged up a bit in shipping, and certain areas will have metal on (finished) metal contact so they will wear over time. At the time I got this, it seemed by far the best value for the capabilities it offers and I'm really glad I went for it! If you are lifting extremely heavy I would find something built a bit stronger with heavier gauge steel, but for any beginners or anyone who doesn't expect to ever load it to a point where you feel concerned then I think this is a no brainer! I also like how this would be relatively easy to take apart if you needed to move it - especially if you can keep the sides intact and just remove the cross pieces. In my garage, I'm able to get it to fit nicely under the garage door with a bit of clearance. (but not much!) ... show more

  • Great home gym!
Color: Black Size: M4 2.0 Elite Package (with Black BP230lbs)
I use 6 days a week and this gym is amazing! Setup after all boxes arrived took about half a day with just me. Assembly was uneventful and all parts matched the instructions. I have found additional accessories since the purchase that have even further enhanced my experience such as hanging leg raise bands and additional hardware for the cables. I do wish this came with an extra set of weight stickers for the cable weights. I put the stickers on the inside and end up placing the pin on the outside just as much as the inside (I used silver sharpie and wrote the lbs on the other side). This is probably a none-issue for most but just a polish. I did need to re-tighten some screws after 2 months from vibration so best to maintain it regularly. I am overall extremely happy with this purchase and love my garage gym! ... show more

  • Actually impressed
I'd give it 4.5 if you could give half stars. I put it together by myself. Everything was there. No missing washers, nuts, bolts, etc. The wrench that comes with it is a joke but i cant knock the machine for that. I recommend a wratchet for quicker assembly. Its sturdy enough for a home gym. Unless you're in worlds strongest man training, it'll hold enough for everyone else. One thing i didnt consider was ratio of pulley system when buying weights. When doing lat pull down, I used every weight i bought and it was way too easy. I had to buy 4 more 45s. Even then you're almost maxing out because of length of tubes the weights are on vs weight plate width. Cables and smith machine glide very easily. I only use smith machine for stretching and light warm ups. Safeties look sturdy but id be skeptical of their performance if you fell forward during free standing Olympic bar squats with 405 or more on bar. My last complaint/annoyance is the lat pull down leg support. I guess its my fault but this machine is not that tall, so lat pull down bar isnt that high. Thus you cant sit on standard bench or you almost cut length of pull in half. I have to sit on floor to to lat pull down. Even then they way you clip the leg support to one of the safeties and have to wiggle into place is annoying. Overall im satisfied. Still better than going to gym (price was just jacked up another $80/yr) and dealing with idiots doing way more than they can handle, letting weights slam, tools on their phone for 8 mins between sorry effort sets, constant "dude" and "bro", etc. I could go on for a while!!!! ... show more

  • Practical workout rig
I shopped around for a while for a functional trainer and somewhat impulse bought this unit during Amazon Prime week. It was 100s cheaper than the equipment I was looking at, so I pulled the trigger since it seemed to check all my boxes. I installed it by myself over the course of a few nights after the kids went to bed. It was a little frustrating only because I was by myself. It was helpful to use ratcheting tow straps to help align some of the upright pieces. I think if you have a partner it wouldn’t be required. The functionality of the equipment is awesome. I can knock out full workouts in 30-40 minutes and really focus on progressive overload. Since I know I won’t have to wait for equipment or settle for different exercises at a gym I’ve seen solid gains in all of my lifts. If I had the extra money I would have splurged for the unit with weights included for an even faster and more seem less workout flow, but this setup works fine and builds in some rest. I would buy it again and I would recommend to someone looking to get away from a gym membership who has space to park this equipment. ... show more
