I bought this to do a ABS brake bleed on my 2019 GMC sierra at4. It fixed my problem of my speed being limited to 42mph. The dealership told me I needed a new brake control module that would cost $1300 for them to install because I changed my own rear brake bads. Anyway it worked great.

This scanner has already paid for itself. I have used it to run diagnostics and make sure that all our family’s vehicles are code-free. I recently used it to put our 2023 BMW X3 into “workshop” mode. That’s a mandatory step before you can replace the brake pads and or rotors of that vehicle. Once in workshop mode, I was able to remove the old rotors, install the new ones, and safely compress the pistons in the brake caliper, after removing the brake pads. I would not have been able to do that brake job had I not bought this scanner. To think that I bought it solely because I got tired of running to the auto parts store whenever one of our vehicles had a code and it wound up saving me at least $500 in labor costs for the brake job because I was able to do it myself. I imagine there’ll be more jobs that it saves me money on. I HIGHLY recommend this scan tool.

I figured reading the VIN code was about the most basic function this should do. I entered the vin on a very inconvenient keypad enough times to have memorized it. Did a second software update and wahla, still wont read the VIN, manually entered again and this time my only option is a model that came along 25 years after the vehicle I have. After much research that I should have done prior to ordering it would appear that this is somewhat normal and cannot be completely unlocked until you enter your blood type, mothers maiden name, SSN and the name of your 4th grade teacher. I am returning this one and getting a unit that is more interested in my cars information than mine.
