The plates have a unique shape in that they are tray like. Each component has a different, subtle design. They are beige or cream colored. They are somewhat heavy. The big plates are quite large & could also be used as a platter. I really like how they look.

I bought this set they are really nice but they seem to be defective there are runs of the beige color that make them look dirty.
