We like this little thing a lot! It's gives out enough heat and enough light to set the mood. It's small so don't expect a full on fire replacement. We're in fire ban so I'm this was the thing we sat around while camping mostly for ambiance. Overall happy with this purchase.

We all buy from Amazon for quick delivery and because most all sellers stand behind their product, almost no questions asked. THIS product is horribly misrepresented in the listing photos and the actual performance is even worse than you can imagine. No working starting mechanism and the flame output is laughable. And, to top it all off, "This item is not eligible for return." Oh, yeah, well thank you very much for nothing. Mine is going right in the trash and I'll be careful to not buy from this retailer again - and do what I can to make sure others here about this. Hope the $61 bucks was worth it, folks. ... show more

    • Great camp fire solution for adventures in a small SUV during fire restriction season
I needed a portable camp fire solution for AZ because of the long periods of fire restrictions. My adventure vehicle is pretty small and I didn't have enough room for a larger pit and propane setup. I just did my first trip at 8400 feet. I used a 220g SnoPeak Propane-Isobutane camp stove canister. The adapter worked perfectly. It burned strong even with occasional gusts of 20 mph. The 220g canister lasted 3 and a half hours. I imagine at lower elevation and/or lower wind, I could turn it down and get even more time. Very happy with the purchase. It was exactly what I needed. The main issue to be aware of is this isn't going to warm up a big circle of people. You have to be sitting pretty close to get any actual warmth. Perfect for a 3 person circle around the fire. Still great for ambiance even if not ideal for providing warmth in larger groups. ... show more

    • Portability is King - flame is decent
I read several Amazon reviews before purchasing one. I was on the fence since this is on the more expensive side for a compact fire fit. The design is attractive and the finish is applied well. I like that it supports isobutane with an adapter. This comes in handy if you are a minimalist and don’t want to carry larger propane tanks. However, I don’t think the flame gets as high while using isobutane. Keep in mind you should use the 3.5-7 oz isobutane canisters since they are low profile and will allow the flame king pit base to sit level. The larger canisters will cause the pit to be unstable and could be knocked over easily. Instead of opting for the proprietary looking and pricey 1/2 lb propane tanks in order for the pit to sit flat, I decided to purchase a wefaith campfire tripod in order to use a standard widely available 1 lb propane tank. The center hole in the tripod is just wide enough to allow the 1 lb propane tank to slide through without touching. The flame king pit now sits flush and is a perfect height for roasting those marshmallows and whatever else you want to heat up. Flame height is respectable and goes a good foot high or so. I do find the gas regulator to be lackluster as the adjustment from low to high isn’t very linear. Overall this is not a 5 star product, and it’s not for everyone. Don’t expect a ton of heat output like you would from a much larger 15-20” fire pit running on a 5 lb propane tank. I’ve included a video of the Flame King fire pit and (optional) tripod from our current visit to a state park. No wind at the time, so you get to see the flame as it runs on a 1 lb propane tank. Word of advice: do not touch the top of the pit above the regulator as it gets extremely hot. ... show more

    • Small but puts out a great vibe
This little fire pit is perfect for a cozy setup. Super easy to use, lights quickly, and gives off just enough flame to make it feel like a real fire without the hassle. Great for tables or smaller spaces when you don’t want a full fire going. Definitely adds to the camping atmosphere.

    • Good quality small fire pit - great for our apartment patio
So far so good - product seems sturdy, works well, and the adapter for butane camp gas canisters is a nice addition. A great option for our small apartment and for camping trips. Note the grate doesn’t attach to the unit which could make it harder to replace propane mid use if using the rocks as you can’t tip it at all but overall no complaints and happy with the purchase! ... show more

    • When valve is off its still leaking
It's not good put a 1lb propane tank on used it twice but noticed that if you leave a tank on with the valve off it leaks and waste a tank. Not safe if you ask me and wasteful.
