  • Worth the money if you have hairy pets
Pros: - great maneuverability, flat or standing up - convenient carry handle to get the stairs done and light enough to hold it - fantastic suction - lots of accessories and clever onboard storage - long cord - power head works fantastically - captures huge amounts of dust, hair and debris Cons: - price - extra long crevice tool is so long it’s too bendy and basically useless; onboard tool is better - power head is huge and HEAVY and hard to store (and expensive) - goes through bags faster than expected and they are pricey ... show more

  • Why did I put up with my upright for so long? This makes vacuuming a breeze
So far I have just used it once but I was totally impressed. The suction is amazing. In fact, I had to raise the vacuum head up higher than I thought in order to get the head to easily move across the flat weave rugs. I have no plush carpet but flatly woven, large room rugs. Once I did that......the suction got all the Ragdoll cat hair and more. The transition to my tile floors was easy. All I had to do was turn off the brush bar switch. What I really loved was that I could vacuum all the way under my coffee table, sofas and chairs. The ability to get the vacuum head under these low spaces was something I haven't been able to do for years without having to stop and add attachments to my upright. With this vacuum everything was able to lay flat and the cat hair was gone. I am looking forward to using it on my couch to suck up all the cat hair.......that hasn't happened yet. I noticed that when vacuuming under my kitchen cabinets that it doesn't suck as good around the edges as my old Kenmore upright but with all the other plusses this is minor. The weight of the vacuum is fine. I wouldn't call it "light weight" but then again, I didn't expect a light weight vacuum. I want it to suck like a demon and to do that the motor needs to work and be long lasting. In that case I expect the Miele motor to be made with metal heavy duty parts. ... show more

  • Pricey but WORTH IT!
So I have been using a Dyson upright for at least 20 years. I loved it for the suction but it’s not the best for tight places especially if I want to vacuum the car. So I’ve been studying for several months to figure out which new one to go with. I settled on this Meile for several reasons. The reviews were great across the board. Great suction. Even the power nozzle is very maneuverable and glides across the floors and carpet. The vacuum is heavy enough not to flip over as you’re pulling it behind you. The power nozzle is heavy but still easy to use. It rotates to get under furniture which the Dyson could never do! I haven’t tried the other nozzles yet but several store inside and the one for upholstery is going to be awesome. We have a small dog who sheds her weight in fur on the couch. Yes the C3 Pet machine is expensive but it’s whisper quiet and even the dogs aren’t afraid of it! So! All things considered I think I made the right choice! ... show more

  • We had to fix a clog problem but it is the best vacuum cleaner
We used the vacuum cleaner for a few months and it worked great. One day it suddenly started to shut off after a few minutes of use. We eventually found the manual and read a bit of it. Tried changing two filters, no luck. Searched online and found a YouTube video of a guy with a different model. He mentioned all the different places to look for a clog, which can cause the vacuum to overheat and shut off. We looked for a video for our model. We started watching a 30 minute video for a model closer to ours but for a different problem. We were thankful the video had "(unresolved)" in the title. Imagine watching a video of a guy trying to solve a problem for 30 minutes only to find out at the end that he never actually solves the problem. We decided to try the ways of finding a clog, from the first video. One thing the guy did was drop a nickel into the hose to make sure it comes out the other end. We looked for a nickel. Maybe I have a penny somewhere? We found a dime. And dropped it in one end. It did NOT come out the other end! Wow, did that guy from the video actually help us to discover the problem? We shined a flashlight deep into one end, and could see something down there! We looked for a long object to push into the tube. Our cat Elsa let us borrow one of her toys, the long plastic one that used to have a feather on the end before Elsa demolished it. With it, we could feel the clog. But we weren't able to push it with the flimsy plastic stick. We tried turning our other (old) vacuum cleaner on, to suck the clog out, but no luck. We looked for a longer object. The mop handle was too wide. I went outside and found a wooden handle in the laundry room. I came back inside and yelled, "wait, let's use this instead" to my wife, who was about to break our hula hoop. We needed to take the handle off of one end of the hose, and we managed to find the small screwdriver we needed to remove three screws from it to get it off. I pushed the wooden handle into the hose and it just barely fit. I jammed it hard but the clog didn't budge. After trying for a while we decided to put water into it to try to loosen the clog. We filled one end with water and it filled up and only a small amount came out the other end. After a bit of this, I tried pushing the wooden handle into an end, and I was able to push the clog through the tube! But the handle was not long enough to push it all the way out the other end. Meanwhile Elsa laid on the floor, watching us, wondering what we're doing. We've been trying to get her to stop scratching her neck wound, we had tried an uncomfortable cone, and had tried cutting a sock and putting it around her neck which was much more comfortable but didn't protect the wound as much as the cone. Earlier in the day we had cut her cone much shorter to make it lighter and more comfortable for her. We had brought her to the vet twice, and have been feeding her only rabbit cat food for the past couple weeks to rule out a food allergy as being the cause. "Is this their latest attempt to get me to stop scratching my neck?" she wondered. "Awful rabbit food, cones, socks, what are they up to now?" Anyway, my wife pushed Elsa's plastic stick into one end to try to wiggle the clog, and I put water into the other end. After a few minutes, SPLOOSH! What appeared to be a family of rats shot out the hose, mama rat, followed by papa rat, and baby rat. My wife screamed and ran. It was a few big hairy clogs. Finally, we got 'em! The vacuum has worked great ever since. ... show more
