  • Powerful Cooling, Easy to installing
Style: 14,000 BTU, Dual Hose
This portable air conditioner has been a great purchase. My first floor is about 750 square feet, and it cooled the entire floor in about 35 minutes, which honestly surprised me because I was worried it wouldn’t be powerful enough. Installation was simple with a standard window. I just connected the two window panels, attached the exhaust hose, and it was ready to go. Even though there were quite a few parts, everything was straightforward. I’m not very handy, but I still finished the installation in about 30 minutes. This unit weighs around 70 to 80 pounds, so it’s a little heavy. Fortunately, it comes with four built-in caster wheels, which make it very easy to move from one place to another. I use it on the first floor, so the noise level is perfectly acceptable to me. However, if you plan to use it in a bedroom and you’re sensitive to noise, it may not be as comfortable for sleeping or relaxing. I also trust this brand because it has built a very good reputation in the Chinese market. More than 20 years ago, I bought one of this brand’s wall-mounted air conditioners for my parents in China, and my family is still using it today. After more than two decades of reliable performance, I have a lot of confidence in this brand’s quality and durability. It also supports app control from my phone, which is very convenient. Overall, I have a lot of confidence in the quality of this air conditioner, and I believe it will continue to perform reliably for many years. ... show more

  • Quiet good performance portable AC
Style: 14,000 BTU, Dual Hose
I am really happy with this portable AC .It was easy to install, fallowed the instructions put the window slider with the sealing strips into the window connected the exhaust hose.done. I really like the multiple ways to control the AC. The remote control and the control panel are especially convenient for the family member who isn’t comfortable using smartphones as elder and kids .I always use app to adjust the fan speed from 0%to 100% when I need to cool the room quickly turn up the fan ,or lower the fan speed, when I go to bed I can easily find a comfortable setting without too much noise ,also I think the air outlet is on the top instead of the front, the cool air comes out in a more natural, gentle way . To a unit has an actual 12000 btu , it cooled my 13-by 14-foot living room from 81 degrees to 75 degrees in about 19 minutes . I am satisfied with how quickly it cools the room ( see last two photos) Overall this is a very convenient portable AC with good cooling performance, quiet operation, and plenty of control options. I am happy with it so far ... show more

  • Poor Customer Service
Style: 14,000 BTU, Dual Hose
I'm really unhappy with this unit and with the customer service provided by Midea. The air conditioner itself works well, but the attachment from the exhaust hose to the window leaves huge gaps and the clasps are made of cheap plastic, as the picture shows. I covered the gaps but I'm annoyed the design required that. Our window is 45 inches high and their customer service has reassured me multiple times that the height is fine, yet the weight of the hose caused the clasp to snap off less than a month after we purchased the unit. Without the clasp, we can't use the air conditioner, and this is during a heat wave. I've been in contact with Midea for over two weeks to get a replacement part, they say they need to send my info to a specialized team to get their advice on how to fix this. The team is supposed to respond in 1-3 business days and it has been over two weeks, no response. When I contacted them again, they gave me the same story, the specialty team is still reviewing the photos. Why can't customer service fix such a simple issue? Why would you use such a cheap plastic with gaps? I see this is now my responsibility to troubleshoot and fix their design flaw, but it is frustrating as a consumer. My previous air conditioner was a Black and Decker, their exhaust hose connects without gaps so this isn't rocket science in the AC world. ... show more

  • Great for Cooling; Annoying Wi-Fi Child Function
Style: 14,000 BTU, Dual Hose
History. I had a Honeywell portable for 10 years when it died . . . during Covid and the supply disruption. The next two years were filled with hauling Whynter and Black & Decker failure up and down stairs because they kept sending me units that simply didn't work. Finally got a B&D that worked for two years, then didn't. I researched and found solid reviews on Midea and bought it with a lot of hope. Well, it came out of the box easily, installed easily, and works great. Quiet, effective. It is as good as the old Honeywell. This morning I decided to write a review after 10 days of daily use. And when I tried to shut it off, I got an AP code for the first time. That's the *!#*! wi-fi function, something I hate in appliances. I can press a button. Getting the AP code to stop required a search on the net and then pressing buttons in a Soup Nazi sequence, and unplugging the unit. Fun part: I never installed the Midea phone app. I haven't put batteries in the hand held remote. I only press the button. But this thing managed to find my phone (no blue tooth on, no Midea app) today after 10 days of daily use when the phone has been in blue tooth mode. I have no idea why the device is doing this and to disable it I read I have to install the app, connect and use, then go to the app, work menus, and check Strangle Wi-Fi. I find this ridiculous. If I wanted an Internet of Things, I would hire a butler and tell her or him what I wanted. I don't want the potential privacy violation sitting in my bedroom listening or watching me. Anything that connects to the internet has easy potential for abuse. Every device I have that uses Wi-Fi I carefully monitor and regularly disable internet connectivity. You may not share my concerns. If so, if you buy this great cooling unit and forget to activate the Wi-Fi connection. Don't worry. It will nag you. Other than that, this is a great unit for cooling over 500 square feet in a room that is upstairs and facing west. Whether it lasts as long as the old Honeywell (what's your bet), remains to be seen. The B&Ds all started great and then began dying a few weeks later. I've been bitten badly and frequently with applicances made since Covid and do not have the same trust as I did before. ... show more

  • Worth the price - cools my entire apartment
Style: 14,000 BTU, Dual Hose
I previously returned a single-hose portable AC because it barely made a difference in my apartment. I bought the Midea Duo about a month ago for the LA heat wave, and the difference is huge. It’s powerful, easy to set up, and not overly loud. I’ve had to run it a lot and so far haven’t seen a significant increase in my electric bill. I have it in the living room of my one-bedroom apartment (500 sq ft) and use a box fan and ceiling fan to circulate the air. It keeps the entire apartment comfortable and drops the humidity very quickly, from around 65% to 40–45%. I’ve been able to keep my entire apartment around 72-75 degrees and sleep comfortably. It is more expensive than other portable ACs and it’s definitely a bit of an eyesore, but the difference in performance makes both trade-offs completely worth it. ... show more

  • Excellent Portable AC – Powerful, Quiet, and Packed with Smart Features!
Style: 14,000 BTU, Dual Hose
I’m very satisfied with this portable air conditioner. It has been working great since the day I installed it. The cooling performance is excellent, and it cools my room much faster than I expected. Within just a few minutes, I can already feel a noticeable difference, even on very hot summer days. The airflow is strong, and there are multiple fan speed settings to choose from, making it easy to find the perfect level of comfort. Even with the powerful airflow, the unit runs much quieter than I expected, so it doesn’t disturb my sleep or daily activities. One of the best features is that it can be controlled in multiple ways. The included remote control is very convenient, and the smartphone app works perfectly as well. I love being able to adjust the temperature, fan speed, and modes directly from my phone without having to walk over to the unit. The smart features make using it much more convenient. Installation was simple, and everything needed was included in the box. The build quality feels solid, and the overall design looks modern and stylish. It has exceeded my expectations in both performance and convenience. Overall, this is an excellent portable air conditioner with fast cooling, powerful airflow, smart controls, and easy operation. It keeps my room comfortable all day long, and I’m very happy with this purchase. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and high-quality portable AC. ... show more

  • Air conditioner that didn’t last
Style: 14,000 BTU, Dual Hose
When I first got it, I loved it. It really worked well. Keeping the house cooler and then we started having trouble with it after five days and it didn’t work anymore. We had to send it back, which was a huge inconvenience. I would be hesitant to buy another one.

  • Btu rating becareful
Style: 14,000 BTU, Dual Hose
In reality it's the same one you find at that one club store. It's really a 12,000btu unit so if you are wondering if they aren't the same the only difference is the color. Some of the comments mention some of the plastic components are fimsy can confirm. They sale a bracket on here not sure if it's better. Wifi connection easy, noise level nice, reliable, temperature control depends on the room I would say this is more for 300 sqft to about 450 sqft. Unit in reality. ... show more
