  • Working well after 3 seasons, relatively quiet
Style: 3,500 Sq. Ft.
I've used the Midea Cube 35 pint dehumidifier for 3 summer seasons. Pros: - Removes moisture from a large basement room well - Relatively (compared with other dehumidifiers I've owned) quiet - This was an important purchase consideration - Humidistat is accurate - Remembers all settings when power is removed - 4 settings to control the maximum volume of water in bucket - Fairly compact - Unique design collapses to about 1/2 height for storage. - Not an advantage for me, but may be for others - Easy user interface Cons: - Lifting the dehumidifier off of the bucket may be difficult for some due to the weight - At the bucket's max water volume setting, lifting the bucket to empty it may be difficult for some due to the weight - Midea thought ahead and added the limit feature, of course this means it needs to be emptied more often - Removing the air filters for cleaning is more difficult than it should be I use this dehumidifier on a Hubitat smart home outlet switch to control when it operates. I'm pleased all of the dehumidifier settings are retained when power is removed; this is also an advantage if your power goes out occasionally. Longevity of dehumidifiers has not been very good lately, so we'll see how long this one lasts... ... show more

  • Workhorse!!
Style: 1,500 Sq. Ft.
We needed a dehumidifier for our 30 ft 5th wheel. The crappy counter size one we bought previously was terrible. The Midea cube is a work horse! We were stunned how well it worked. It kept the humidity perfect and is quiet enough for us. The bucket design with the big handle is easy to empty and has wheels to roll it if needed. I wish we would have bought this sooner. Camping in the south is often very humid and keeping humidity at a constant and comfortable level is important. The buttons are easy to use and settings can be customized. ... show more

  • Quiet dehumidifier with good contols that works well
Style: 1,500 Sq. Ft.
This is my second Midea Cube 20 dehumidifier. First one lasted 3 years, then refused to condense water. Motor and fan ran, but no result. Internet said probably the coolant, and that it was toast. Other reports said generally most people expected a dehumidifier like this to last 2 years. Mine runs constantly, and I empty once a day. This is fairly quiet, which is good, because it needs to be in my bedroom. Consumer Reports praised this model as being one of the quieter units. Chose the 20 because internet articles said getting a bigger dehumidifier may cause to cycle more often, which is harder on the system than continuous operation. Also, I have to carry the bucket to the bathroom to empty. Water is heavy. I can set the water level turn-off to something lower than max capacity so it's easier to carry. I have mine set on 3 (out of 4). Having a larger capacity container would not be useful for me. I can set it to run continuously, have a set point humidity shut off, or set it on a timer. I have it set to 50% humidity, and in FL, that means it usually runs continuously. Only problem is a design issue. Controls are on the top of the unit and easy to push. One of my cats will sometimes sit on top of the dehumidifier and reset it for me, and I have to go back and reset, which fortunately is not hard. Oh, cats! I find the compact size, ability to dehumidify, and easy controls of this product very good, and did buy another when the first one gave up. ... show more

  • Great humidifier
Style: 4,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump
Excellent. Love this humidifier. It’s just a bit noisy compared to other devices but it does the job well. And the best thing is the great capacity of the tank. I keeo it running for two or three days in a row with no need to worry about the tank getting filled up .

  • Effective and Quiet!
Style: 3,500 Sq. Ft.
This review of the Midea 35-pint Cube was written after about two weeks of use in my unfinished basement. The unit was easy to set up. Unbox it, install the castors, mount the unit atop its bucket and plug it in. The controls are intuitive and easy to use. I set the humistat to 55, and the fan to low. Over 2 weeks, it has kept the humidity in my basement consistently low. The Midea is quiet, with no vibration, even with the fan on high. I can barely hear the compressor when it runs. Except for emptying the bucket once a week, it's been a set and forget unit. I can't comment about the app, as I haven't used it. ... show more

  • Does its job undeniably well, ONLY under frequent routine maintenance supervision
Style: 4,500 Sq. Ft. with Pump
...which was NOT what we were shopping for. No 'set it and forget it', here. For starters, the manual states there is a "bucketless mode"--there is NOT as-such: most purchasers who complain of leakage have probably fallen stupified to the Chinese-to-English+/Spanish, German, French mistranslation of its user-confusing manual. The unit cannot be operated in any so-called "bucketless mode" without either its bucket or a janitorial sink or overflow drain pan under it. It can be set up to pump out its included bucket, it CANnot be set up NOT to drain all over the floor without its bucket. & as-such, when its functioning by design, its bucket is always no-less than 1/3rd full before its pump is activated. One must manually empty its bucket every time its full, or set it up to pump out its bucket into a drain. Second, though we've only ever had to clean the air-screens once, the unit apparently knocks itself off on a timer rather than air-flow sensor; the air filter cleaning indicator goes on about once every 75 days whether they're clogged or still practically clean. At least those are easy to remove to check, and hose off when actually necessary. But it's just one more 'unfriendly' reason to have to attend to the negative-attention drubbing, needy thing, no? Third, everytime there's so-much's an electrical power blip on our street, guess what? It must be reset to our previously programed mode. So: TOP-NOTCH, durable, serious-duty fan-inducted condensation mechanics + unreliable digital controls and practically middle-school boy's prattling instructions = no-better than THREE stars. My mother couldn't figure it out, one thing--I couldn't figure it out for nearly a year? Quite another . . . ... show more
