Bought this just for something to have when I travel but was surprised how nice the trumpet looks and feels. Obviously, the sound isn't as warm as a normal size trumpet. I did not have any valve problems like others have reported in the comments. A pocket trumpet cannot be kept in tune if you blow as hard as you would a normal trumpet. You have to back off this horn to even get close to playing it in tune. There are slides that you can incorporate but it's still hard to stay in tune. I knew this going in and I'm not disappointed.

It feels very firm and good quality, but in particular the sliders that allow you to play the right notes do not slide well and get stuck, so you'll be off pitch. So, we saw a review where someone showed his and warned about the brass colored parts on his red trumpet. Sure enough, our black one has brass colored parts too. I thought it had four valves and that is why I bought it. I liked its look. It was really cute! It is not that bad of a horn. The sound is not that great until you practiced on it for a while. I might give the sound quality a better review after playing it longer. The slides to tune it with are a problem. They tend to stick. Even with rocking the slides back and forth does not help much.
