July 16, 2026 We had to do some windowsill leveling up with ~1/2 to 3/4" thick wood strips for the base brackets and the "U" shaped parts to finally level and slide together with the AC body. We have a 1911 house with double hung windows with weights, plus the vertical wood strips on the inner window called "parting beads" that keep the windows in a track. The "parting beads" made it necessary to cut several boards when elevating the windowsill base, adding boards, so that the base bracket is high & even enough for the "U shaped" part of the bracket frame to slide into & together underneath the AC Unit. Our windowsill depth was about 1" longer than the recommended depth from inside windowsill to outer wall edge (10.5" Max?? ), also an issue, but we worked around it, and reinforced where needed. We also had to remove an antique brass window handle that protruded and was keeping the window from closing into the AC unit "U" shaped area. The side brackets and insulation were pretty straight forward. Make certain your outer support framing and AC unit are tilted slightly downwards towards outside so that all condensation is going to drip out the back- and that one of the black drainage plugs is in place- bottom, Rt. corner looking from outside (7 refills provided)- check after a while that it's dripping. I'm trying to cool more than the 550 Sq.Ft. that's recommended, so it'll take fans, and ceiling fans set to "counter clockwise" to assist...reset the switch so ceiling fan is moving towards the left. The AC has been on for 6 hours in a 750 Sq.ft downstairs that has an open stairway, but rooms are closed upstairs. No supplemental fans yet, but I have noticed a great improvement. I also bought heat reducing window film- for some of the West and South exposure windows.- to be installed soon, hopefully. Today was around 100F, and after 6 hours my downstairs and hall well are very comfortable. The temps will be even better with supplemental fans and window film applied, I'm sure. Thrilled so far about how quiet, easy to use, & how quickly unit has cooled a circuitous much larger space than it was designed for! Midea 12,000BTU "U" shaped AC 2026 has, so far, not only stepped up to, but may exceed many others during a great Cooling Challenge - and one of the most extreme Heat Waves in recent memory- very brutal and health threatening to many. Will update after a fair trial. Thus far: Thrilled!! Thank you Midea!!!

I gotta say I was skeptical on how good this ac unit really would be. Replacing my 10 year old LG portable AC unit, I was expecting that it would do pretty good and boy was I not let down. I have used this for about 3 weeks so far and it has kept my room cool whilst being quiet and efficient with energy as well. Install was a breeze and the unit arrived in perfect condition which is usually rare for somthing that is pretty heavy and handled by multiple shipping companies. This speaks to how well this unit is packaged. I removed the 'updated' drain plug from the bottom and have the unit leaning about a full bubble on my level downwards and its been draining well and I dont think I will get any mold issues. Being that im in the northeast US, prolonged humid days are not super common so I think this unit should do just fine. The wifi capabilities and remote work great and I couldn't believe I waited so long to get such a unit over the portable ac unit type with the hose that runs to the window to expel its hot air. Being able to open the window while this is installed is also a plus. Keep in mind my room is above a garage which usually acts as an attic and it gets very warm without air conditioning, this 12k btu unit is perfect.

Our old air conditioner was so loud and would only run properly if it was on constant fan. Our electric bills in the summer were outrageous and it didn’t even cool our downstairs very well. My husband researched this brand and type of window a/c unit and was pleased with his findings. He purchased this air conditioning unit because of its efficiency, cooling output, and quietness. It cools our entire 900 sq. ft. downstairs very comfortably without being too stuffy or too cold. We keep it at 74 degrees on the Economy Saver setting and we have had no complaints. It runs much quieter and more efficiently than expected. It was easy to install and set up. My husband just turned it to Economy Saver, set the temperature where we wanted it, turned the unit on, and in no time at all we were feeling cool and comfortable. We recently used it continuously, during a heatwave of 90+ degree days, and we were very comfortable indoors. The remote control is an added bonus too. My husband loves controlling the a/c from his recliner! It might seem expensive at first, but it is well worth the price. We just got our first electric bill since using this a/c unit and we couldn’t believe the savings. Our bill was about half of what it used to be with our old unit. My husband figures that just with the money we are saving on our electric bill the air conditioner will have paid for itself by the end of this summer. Great value for the money.

This windows unit is amazing compared to my old one. It is extremely quiet and cools down my living room so fast. Instalation was fast and easy. Once I downloaded the app adding my air conditioner to it was simple. I can control my unit with my phone. I also connected it to my Alexa and can now control it thru her. I'm looking forward to getting my electric bill. Crossing my fingers it's lower with this new unit. It was a little pricey, but I have no regrets. It was money well spent.

The Midea U Shaped Window Air Conditioner was excellent. I am so happy to own it. The Installation was straightforward in the video on the QR code, it helped me a lot in setting the machine up, the process only took me a few minutes to do. The overall feeling the machine look amazing it fit very well into the environment I was going for. It’s a great value. I gladly spend my money on this. Also this air conditioner cool down the room the fastest I ever seen. It was very quiet that I could sleep without worrying of being woken up by the noise, and the instructions on how to use it was clear and defined, there were a lot of modes that would help in any situation. It also came with a remote control. I would definitely recommend it as it was one of if not easiest and cheapest air conditioner, I ever installed.

I live in a tin can with 0 shade cover for 10+ hours a day but this unit is able to keep it around 75f in my living area, however it does not cycle at all during the day it just stays on. Overall I say the unit is worth it.

After using this Midea U-Shaped 12,000 BTU Air Conditioner for several weeks, I can honestly say it has exceeded my expectations. The installation took a little time because of the mounting bracket, but once everything was secured, it felt very stable and well-supported. The cooling performance is excellent. My large living area cools down much faster than with my previous window unit, and the temperature remains consistent even during hot afternoons. One of the biggest surprises was how quiet it is. I can comfortably watch TV, work, or sleep without the constant loud compressor noise that comes with traditional window AC units. I also really like the U-shaped design. Being able to open the window for fresh air while still keeping the air conditioner installed is a feature I didn’t realize I would appreciate so much. It also allows more natural light into the room compared to standard window units. The Wi-Fi connectivity has been very convenient. I often turn the unit on before arriving home, and having control from my phone makes a noticeable difference in comfort. The remote is easy to use as well, and the smart features connected without much hassle. Another benefit I’ve noticed is lower energy consumption compared to my older air conditioner. Since it runs efficiently and maintains temperature without constantly cycling on and off, it feels much more economical for daily use.
