  • Great product for vocal recording
Size: Five sides without stand
Great acoustic shield and isolates all outside sounds.

  • Can work with a SM7b
Size: Five sides without stand
You can make it for a SM7b. Ye just gotta get an Allen key and adjust the u bracket under the mic. Shield is light and kind of cheap, but does the job.

  • It works!
Size: Five sides without stand
It's not the fanciest or nicest isolation shield, but it works! It's a great size- not too big, not too small. It's easy to set up, and it folds up neatly for storage. Now, this mic shield isn't magical... If you're planning to record in a really noisy space, this isn't going to help much, but what it does do really well is reduce echos and computer fan noise. I noticed a significant improvement in the clarity of my recordings when using the shield because I didn't have to rely on noise reduction as much. All in all, it's a decent shield for the money. The build quality is good, and it's pretty effective at reducing echos and low-level ambient noise. ... show more

  • surprisingly effective
Size: Five sides without stand
This shield makes a dramatic improvement to the quality of recording. The foam does not do a tremendous job of absorbing bass sounds or room/atmospheric noise, it does make a difference to the reverberation while recording with a microphone with vocals. If you are trying to record an instrument this way, you are making a mistake in general. Everything could have been a bit more stable, but it was good enough to stay in place during recording. I found the size okay, but you are forced to a large degree to sit while recording. You can use it on a stand, but I didn't love the way it threw everything off weight based on my arrangement. For what it does and the price, it is great. If you want something more effective or adaptable to your situation, then you are going to spend much more. ... show more

  • Prevent Reflections and Clean Up Recordings
Size: Five sides without stand
The whole idea is to absorb your voice so it doesn’t bounce off your walls and create reflections/reverb. How effective this is depends a lot on what room you’re using it in. If your room is highly reflective, you can’t expect this to completely deaden all the reflections. If your room is semi-treated, though, with some absorption pads on the walls and hopefully a carpeted floor, this would do well as the final element to deaden your echos, which is how I would recommend using this. That being said, this will reduce the amount of reflections you get in any recording space. In a highly reflective room, you could drape a thick blanket over yourself, and the isolation shield will be convenient to hold the blanket up. Very easy to mount on a microphone stand, and I appreciate that it can also sit on a countertop. I highly recommend it for cleaning up your audio recordings, and I believe it is valued appropriately. ... show more

  • works well for it's size
Size: Five sides without stand
This is a good sound absorber and does help isolate the vocals while recording. It is kind of small, so read the dimensions to be sure this works for you. But even at this size, when it's a relatively close proximity to the mic, it works very well. The nice thing is how lightweight it is, and the joints are all articulated, so it's easy to bend or curve or straighten any of the angles so it's a nice fit. I actually really like how short it is vertically, it's no taller than a sheet of paper, so when it's around the mic it's still easy to glance up and read the lyrics or script while recording. It's well-built and easy to store, so for a small studio this is a very convenient solution. ... show more

  • A decent little shield that lacks a travel case
Size: Five sides without stand
When you don't have a sound booth or dedicated space to record, this works well in a pinch to allow you to get some recording done in a temporary space. The panels are a good size, blocking your microphone and allowing you to cut down on echoes and background noise. I think this works really well for a teen making YouTube videos or someone on a car trip needing a little extra sound dampening while doing some recording. The main problem is that for a travel or "portable" device, it has no carrying case, bag, or even an accessory pouch to put all the little connectors in. It's a small oversight but can end up being a big deal in the long run, especially for someone trying to be professional while on the go. A simple travel bag or carrying case would make this a top tier product and would keep all the little attachments from getting lost. ... show more
