Description

This stereo installation kit has been engineered to help you install either a 2” tall (Single-DIN) or a 4” tall (Double-DIN) aftermarket radio into the original vehicle dashboard. This dash kit makes radio replacement simple and comes with a pocket that is installed below the 2” radio to fill the extra space in the radio opening, which can be used for storage. The pocket is not needed when installing a 4” tall radio. The dash kit is painted scratch- resistant matte black to match the original look and feel of the vehicle’s dashboard. Installing an aftermarket radio can upgrade the sound quality and provide additional features the original factory radio couldn’t offer but requires this dash kit to make it fit.

As title states, this kit worked great to make my DD aftermarket head unit blend in with the rest of the dash. Just fyi, Instructions say a little different but I found it easier to install the plastic brackets to the head unit first and then install it to the car personally. The Pros: - Goes together easily. - Fits decently in the hole left by the stock Camry radio, though not quite perfectly. - There is enough adjustment in the mounting holes that it looks decent when installed. - Just enough mass of plastic to be reasonably strong. The Cons: - The sculpted opening for the radio bezel needs to be straighter. The particular radio it is being used to install has a small volume knob on the left side and there is not quite enough space to be able to get the fingers around the knob to change the volume. - Had to drill and trim new holes on the side pieces to accommodate the mounting holes in the aftermarket radio. ... show more

this installed great in my 2004 camry. once you get all the wiring done, mount the radio with the 4 screws just slightly snug to allow for slight adjustment once you put the front face of the camry back over the top of everything. then adjust the radio level if desired (i didnt need to). then tighten the 4 bolts up. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Great price, holds stereo. Product has a huge achilles heel though: It doesn't really fit as it should. The glitch other reviews mention is real and wide, and the whole thing is flimsy. The plastic is of a very visibly different quality than the car's plastic. The adapter fits outside the factory setup, not seamlessly inside of it. The openings for the screws are U-shaped, instead of O-shaped, so they move when you tighten the screws. When you remove your factory radio which comes with aluminium clips, the plastic clips (left and right of the adapter in the photo above) look like they won't last particularly long. But, after all, it holds the car stereo in place so it sort of works anyway. Just don't have any big expectations. ... show more

I bought a boss audio radio, they and the maker of this product said it would allow me to install the boss audio radio. Firstly the "hole cover" that fits around the radio to fill the gaps doesn't actually fit on the radio; my radio sticks out and to make it flush I'd have to cut the top and bottom pieces of plastic so much that they'd detach. I also had to modify where the radio slides in as on this cover the hole has small extensions that angle inwards for some reason and make the hole too tight. Second, the side mounts holes don't match up, I drilled holes to accommodate, and where they are supposed to allow the bolts to go to attach them to the cars inner dash don't line up either...again I could modify them to make them (and I did) The unit I have now is unrecognizable to the one I bought but it's the only one I could find (even asked crutchfield and they also said this one) so I'm going to buy another and use what I learned from this debacle and make one a little better. Might end up going through 3 before I get a flush and securely mounted radio unit though. ... show more
