I bought this mounting kit for a 2004 Mustang and it is a perfect fit. There's a good chance it would fit 99 and 2000 as well. I would recommend checking the part number on the Metra site to make sure it fits your vehicle. There are a number of reviews that gave the product lower stars due to a lack of research. If your vehicle is listed there, this is a good product to go with. This is for a larger-than-single DIN slot so it has a pocket with a little space for nick-knacks below the head unit. I've found this is a good spot for my remote. The plastic is sufficiently sturdy that you won't have worry about anything breaking if you drive over a large bump. It's made to be quite modular so if you wanted to drill extra holes for customization this kit is pretty accommodating. It comes with a plate for the back of your unit as well so it doesn't have to hang in mid-air which could put too much stress on the front mounting points. This is a no-nonsense mounting kit that will keep a sturdy hold on your head unit and I would recommend it to anyone. ... show more

This worked perfectly in my 2005 explorer xlt. The fit is really good and it looks really good. Plus it was super easy to install. I was surprised at the quality of the plastic since it is so inexpensive. I am very happy with the outcome.

This installed perfectly in my son's 2002 Mustang. We installed an aftermarket radio in place of the stock Mach 460 cd player. This kit has everything you will need and it looks very nice. Easy to install as well, just follow the instructions.

Needs work. I would prefer rubber washers because it does rattle and cause squeaking noise when driving. Instructions are somewhat clear and legible. Product is brittle plastic but easy to work with. They are not very specific about exactly what models this thing fits. I have an "03 F250, and it does not fit... It didn't mount right up, but after a little work with the dremel and a few extra screws, I made it work.
