Bottom line up front: Go get the regular stuff. This gimmick powder will leave you with a nasty cup, and a big mess on the countertop that will congeal into a orange shame puddle. I recently tried this wretched orange-bubbly Fiber Powder, and I must say, I'm pleasantly dissatisfied. I bought this as a "oh that could be good i guess, but man 38 dollars is a bit steep, and it may suck". I still went through with it and I am going to go get the regular stuff from now on. This product leaves me missing the regular meta-mucil. Firstly, let's talk about the flavor. Despite its name, "Sparkling fiber" it's actually going to make a huge mess and not be fizzy at all when its done exploding all over the place. It is about as easy to drink as room temperature battery acid, but I will admit the flavor isnt too overly sweet or artificial tasting, which is the only plus I can really give it. If you take psyllium fiber in your diet then you are probably familiar with the Metamucil brand. This Metamucil sparkling fiber powder is a bit different than the original. It's a way to get your fiber supplement with fizz and some extra vitamins. When mixing 2 spoonful's in a 16 oz glass of water you need to leave about an inch of room for the initial bubbling to take place. Once it's done with that it calms down and flattens out. Then it's ready to drink. My thoughts are that it tastes like orange flavored seltzer. I didn't particularly care for the flavor, as I don't care for Alka-Seltzer tasting products. It does offer extra vitamins not available in regular Metamucil, but it also has only half the dietary fiber and half the soluble fiber as the regular product. That's a deal breaker for me and explains why there is no thickening or clumping in the glass after it dissolves. I will continue to use up this container by adding fruit juice to improve the flavor, but I won't buy another container of this version of Metamucil, because the original is still the best in my opinion. ... show more
