My husband and I put the bed together in about 2.5 hours. The instructions could be a little clearer. Be aware that the cross slats are not all the same. We had to disassemble after we put two of the beds together. It was not clear on the instructions. I would not have been strong enough to put this together by myself. I would recommend a 6 inch mattress for the top and trundle. An 8 inch would be ok on the top if you had an older child that will not roll off.

(7/3/2021 Update) It took the seller a while to get replacement parts to me. They went above and beyond to make things right. They not only refund me some money, they also sent me a whole new bed. So I changed the review to 4 stars. (Original Review) The bunk bed trundle bed arrived ahead of schedule. It was okay to assemble until we got to the trundle bed. We ran into a problem with the unique nut and bolt pieces that go into the frame of the trundle bed to keep the mattress in place. We had a really hard time getting the nuts screwed on to the bolts. In fact two of the bolts broke right off. We contacted the sellers asking they send us replacement nuts and bolts. Their solution was that we should go buy the nut and bolts ourselves. That is not possible because it is a very unique design that you can't just pick up in a hardware store. We were very disappointed.

I must admit, the directions for assembly were not good. I purchased this bed for my granddaughters who sleep three to a room. They needed the space. I am satisfied with the end results, it is sturdy, and is a space saver. It arrived on time just before Christmas. I am satisfied with my purchase and the price. The only thing is, I did purchase the warranty which never came. So, I would check out the return policy before spending the extra on the warranty.

I don’t like the pieces G because all come with scratches, also pieces 6-8 too, not too happy with this product.Also one of the stairs is more bigger than the other and when I try connect I can’t do the kids bunk bed just have one stairs.

It will do the job. It took three adults four hours to put this together! After getting it together the next day a 40lb child stood on the trundle and a wheel broke off, other than that sturdy.

I was concerned about getting this in time because it was out of stock when I ordered, but it shipped on time and I actually received it a day or two earlier than expected. It was easy enough to put together, but it definitely takes two people. When put together, it looks just like the picture. The only thing I don't like is that it squeaks pretty bad when the kids are moving or climbing to the top, which I guess can be expected with a metal bed.
