I saw some reviews on this bed and thought, well, folks seem to like it. But I'll be honest and say I was skeptical even after the generally positive reviews. Well, I'm now a believer. This is a nice bed/desk/storage item. Price is good. Fit and finish are as well. It came delivered well, and quickly. It is 2 massive boxes though and they are kinda heavy and awkward to carry but I did without hurting myself. Plan on a helper unless you are all about going it alone. Also suggest you ditch the allen tools provided and use a drill or impact to attach the seemingly never ending fasteners. That will save a ton of time. Know though that this still will take some time to assemble. Plan for over an hour. The unpacking and laying out parts is especially tedious. Id'd have preferred more of this be preassembled. Instructions are not great at all, but that's truly the lone gripe. Once together, it is surprisingly sturdy and mactches well with existing furniture. Good product and I recommend this item. It is a 5 star item for me and a good value.

Quality lift bed. This bed is well built and very sturdy. It takes some time to assemble, but everything fit well and looks great. It’s not squeaky and is very safe. The steps are solid and the added storage is a huge bonus. It’s very comfortable for my 8 year old daughter. Overall this is a great value for the money and I would recommend!

The Metal Loft Bed w/Desk and Storage (ASIN: B0DYV7FNK8) is well designed and built. There are a lot of good things going for this bed and arrangement. Printed instructions are included in the kit, but are wordless with drawn diagrams. Some important details are very, very small. No photos included. The kit includes 2 hex wrenches, all the tools that are required. While these will do the job, they wear on your hands quickly. I also used my 4mm “T” hex wrench and a 4mm hex on a 3/8” socket with my electric drill/driver. This reduced the assembly time considerably. Note that I always start the threads by hand and always finish tightening by hand. The drill/driver was used to fast forward the threads while the torque setting was always at the lowest setting. Start all bolts used in a section prior to fully tightening any of them. The parts list does not well identify the parts. No dimensions are included, so what may look like a stick may be 6” or 60”. No way to tell from the wordless description. A few damaged parts were received. Some examples include: Item #12 - Bent – attachment points both ends. Missing paint (minor) – attachment points both ends. Item #10 – 2 (Both) - Bent – attachment points both ends. Missing paint (minor) – attachment point one end. Item #5- Scratched paint. Item # 11 - Dent in metal guard rail tube. The bent parts were easier to correct than I anticipated using long handled slip-joint plyers and an old towel for padding and to avoid scratching the paint. One or two tweaks and the part was straight again and fully usable. Caution - Sharp slivers of metal were found loose in the carton among the parts (photo). Arrows – Pay attention to the arrow sticker on the part and the arrow direction in the printed directions. They matter. Sometimes the arrow needs to point up during assembly, sometimes it needs to point down, and sometimes even sideways. Do note and follow the printed directions. The ID & Arrow Stickers are often removable whole from the painted metal parts. Not so much when trying to remove them from the wood grain appearance parts. Often, they tear and adhesive is left behind. I estimate I used about 15% of the assembly time with sticker removal. Note the location of the stickers during assembly, as some will be partially between parts and should be removed prior to bolt tightening. Loft Bed Placement: Once I completed step 11, I was able to locate the loft bed against the wall where I wanted it to remain during use. I no longer needed to access the bed from behind to complete the assembly. I am doubtful that the hanging storage area will be used for much. It would be a better use of space if that area were used for additional shelves instead. Overall, this as a very positive experience. I will enjoy my grandson using this bed for many years to come. Loft beds have many advantages, especially space utilization, over other beds. I know this well, as I built two from scratch for my son and now this one for my grandson(s).

First the caveat: This bed arrives in two separate boxes -- one elongated one and another rectangular box. Don't try to assemble without both. In my case, they arrived separately on different days. But once you do have everything to assemble, be ready for an undertaking. While it is easy to assemble when following the instructions, there are numerous pieces that need to be screwed together with the supplied Allen wrenches. I used an Allen drill bit and put my drill on the lowest setting. Once together though, you get a very excellent loft bed that is sturdy, stable, and comfortable. The desk underneath is nifty as are the storage spaces under the stairs and the clothes hanger in the little space behind the stairs. For quality, durability, stability, usability and overall value on price, you can't find a better deal. There were no missing parts, it was all in there.

Our daughter had a bunk bed with a picnic table type desk and it was made of wood. It wasn't very good quality, and parts of it were starting to break and crack so we needed to replace it. The fact that this bed is made of metal is so much more confidence inspiring. I was always afraid she was going to jump onto the mattress one day and the wood slats would break, but these slats are very solid. It took us about 3-5 hours to put it together, but that includes breaking the old bed down and moving things around. All the parts were accounted for so assembly was relatively easy, there are just a lot of pieces, but the instructions were pretty clear. It looks good and she has a lot more space in her room now. Very happy with this bed.
