  • Great product for the price.
Size: Twin/Full Color: Silver
After reading the reviews, I decided that this bed would be a good choice for my four year old's new bed. I wanted a twin over full and something that was solid. I also didn't want to spend a lot of money considering how hard kids are on furniture, as well as not knowing how long he's going to want to have bunk beds in his room. I decided to start a timer as my husband and I started unboxing this bed and seeing EXACTLY how long it took to put this bed together. In full disclosure, we 1) Used a power tool to put the screws in and 2) We were still watching our two small children, so there were potty breaks, extra "helping" and a little chasing involved. With that said, it took us 1 hour and 55 minutes to put this together - about what I was expecting. We had a REALLY hard time getting one of the top slats in (just one. We actually considered just leaving it out) so that alone probably added 10 minutes. As another reviewer suggested, we installed the ladders upside-down so that the two "steps" that are closer together are at the top so my son has more steps when he's at the top. Now that it's built, I'm not sure that would have been necessary, as they can climb up on the bottom part of the top bunk, and that first step over the bottom mattress is pretty big now, but it's fine how it is. He's been sleeping in the bottom bunk for about a week now and it doesn't move, squeak, rattle or anything that would make me concerned about how solid it might be so far. You will not be getting a piece of heirloom furniture that you can pass down to your grandkids - there are already little spots where the paint is chipping off the bed, but for the price, I still think this bed is a great buy. I will add - when they say use a 6" mattress or less, they mean it. We bought a 6" memory foam mattress and I wonder if we should have done a 5". I feel like with the 6" mattress we are pushing not having enough guard rail on the top. I suppose with an older child this might not be as much of an issue as with a pre-schooler. ... show more

  • This bed is sturdy :-)
Size: Twin/Full Color: Black
My purchase was: Twin over full. Yesterday I built this bed by myself except for my 7 year old son handing me the the metal slats that the bed lays on. It was fairly easy to build. I would have been done sooner but I ran into two obstacles. 1). The instructions didn’t say to have the holes on part “T” facing up (maybe that was a no brainer but apparently I didn’t think about it). Make sure that the holes on part “T” are facing up so that part “X” can be attached to it. I had to find my husband’s drill with the correct attachment to drill a hole for the screw because their was no way I was going to disassemble and rebuild. 2). I had such a hard time trying to get part “Q” onto all those slats 🤦🏽♀️. After having built this bed by myself and using ALLLLLLL of my thumb power to tighten all the screws and things I really thought that I was going to have to give up for the next day or two but my kids had their hopes set on it being done that day. I pushed myself to the limit trying to push part “Q” onto all of those slats. Let me tell you, that was quite hard. However, that part makes the bed more sturdy and I’m glad that that part is included. The bunk bed itself seems to be the most sturdy bunk bed that our family has ever had (I have 9 children ages range from 4-24 so we’ve been through some beds, lol!). My kids love it. This was a great purchase 😊 ... show more

  • Good value, looks decent.
Size: Twin/Full Color: Black
There is much to like about this unit. The package arrived in one large (and heavy) box. I used a handtruck to aid in bringing it into the house, then opened it and carried it to an upstairs bedroom in pieces. The instructions are fairly straightforward, with good pictures. All of the pieces are clearly labeled. I spent 1 hr, 45 minutes putting it together. A couple of times, I had to remove a part and turn it 180 degrees because I had not realized that I installed it backwards until I went to fasten something else. Once put together, the bed seems fairly sturdy, but when someone climbs the ladder, the whole structure shakes a little. The fasteners are allen-heads, and I had difficulty getting some of them to start threading. It takes patience. Once they are started, they thread right in. For certain stages of assembly, it may help to have a second person hold things in position while you get the fastener started. It is easy to strip out the allen-head of the bolts. It would have been better if they had gone with a torx-head. Installation of the slats is a longer-than-needed process due to their being a couple of hundred components (literally, not an exaggeration) in the assembly. In additional to sliding in the metal slats, of which there are plenty, you also have to snap in plastic connectors (3 per slat on the upper bunk, 4 per slat on the lower bunk). The good news is that if you ever disassemble the unit to move it to another location, complete disassembly is not required. You could probably disassemble it, move it to another room, and re-assemble it within a half-hour or so. Note that the top bunk has guard rails, but the manual says your mattress on that bunk should be maximum 6" thick. The physical appearance of the unit is fine. The packaging included foam and cardboard to prevent scratching during shipping. The bolt heads are black, so they do not really stand out amongst the black finish of the bars. On some of the more expensive bunk beds, the fasteners appear quite prominently, even at a distance. One negative that comes to mind is that the ladder's rungs are fairly thin, so a heavier child might find that to be painful. All in all, this seems to be a decent unit for the price. It was actually the cheapest twin-over-full bunk bed that we saw anywhere, and we shopped around. It doesn't look like the cheapest, though. The finish of the paint is more of a satin finish, which looks much nicer than I thought. I was expecting a cheap-looking glossy finish. One last thought: You can easily slide another 6" mattress underneath the lower bunk to use as an emergency sleeping arrangement for a guest, or for your kids' occasional sleepover. If you look for bunk beds with a trundle, they can be quite expensive, so you can satisfy the same occasional need just by sliding a mattress underneath this unit...like a poor man's trundle bed... ... show more

  • My son is enjoying his bed
Size: Twin/Full Color: Black
My mother-in-law and I assembled this bed together. I think it took us about 3 hours to do. It wasn't very difficult, just time consuming. There were a few times where the directions seems very vague to us and we found that we had to go back and change the way we bolted a piece together because the holes didn't match up for future steps. This happened to us three different times. I would like to think that we're fairly astute, so I'm laying the blame on the directions. They don't always do a great job of showing you what you should be doing. It's been up for two months now and it seems sturdy, so that's a plus. My son complained about the steps on the ladder, so we bought a pool noodle and cut it up and that seemed to solve the problem. I probably wouldn't have a grown adult sleep on this bed, even on the bottom bunk. Although I've sat on it, I would worry about putting my full weight throughout a night on the bottom. That said, it seems to hold the kids just fine. We bought some cheap mattresses from Walmart and they fit on there properly and snugly, so the bed is sized correctly. For the price, we feel that this was a great purchase. If I needed to add another bunk bed, I would consider purchasing another of these. ... show more

  • Great for College!
Size: Twin/Full Color: Black
So I found very few reviews on here about adults/college kids using these. I am splitting an apartment room with someone to save rent money and needed a metal and cheap bunk bed. I never thought I would connect the word "cheap" and "bunk bed" together since any mistake made could end badly. I looked up the specs on this bunk bed and found that it more than supports our weight. I am on the bottom bunk- I weigh 190lbs and am 5'8". My roommate is 120lbs and is 5'6". The bed holds up very strong. I know it can support much more weight both on the top and bottom. Installation of this product was difficult. Alignment, tightening the screws, and TRYING to eliminate swaying were a huge headache. One of the mattress support bars was bent during shipping (there are over 30 of these small bars, so it didn't jeopardize the structural safety at all). And because of how its set up (full size mattress on bottom, twin on top), it shakes when my roommate tosses and turns. I am in no way afraid of the bed falling on me because of his weight and the obvious fact that if something is wrong, there are usually obvious warning signs. Nothing will ever just snap all at once and create a catastrophe. I would say though, that some people have anchored parts of the bunkbed to the side wall and/or ceiling to minimize as much "sway" as possible. I wish we could do this, but we cannot drill into the walls of our rental unit. A couple things to keep in mind.... Measure twice, assemble once. Read the instructions and don't do anything half-arsed. Also, if this is going to your college kid's apartment or you are a college kid yourself, don't invite your girlfriend/boyfriend to "spend the night." It will not be able to handle much stress and jostling. At least I wouldn't risk it. If this was a twin top/bottom or had a couple more supports, then I'd say don't worry about it. If this was made of thick wood and had a lot more bolts in it, I'd say go for it. But this product is strong as long as you use it to sleep on only. We also had some issues installing the guardrails as the screw alignments were off. But we managed to screw in 3/4 screws on each side so that it was somewhat safer. This price is a steal. ALSO! Make sure you buy the full mattress sold by Dorel Home Products as well. It fits perfectly on the bottom bunk and feels extremely comfortable (for a spring mattress). ... show more

  • Great Buy!
I purchased this Bunkbed for my Daughters 10 & 5; at the time of purchase they were 9 & 4. They’ve held up well for the Year we’ve had them. My Daughter’s; Step Daughters and Sons have all slept in these beds! We’ve had no problem with them bending; squeaking; rocking; breaking anything. It’s probably because they also know not to jump on the beds; or act wild and crazy on them. We’ve moved once and they’ve held up well in the move. My Husband and I put them together with no problem and it didn’t take long. We used a power tool. No missing hardware; no dents; no paint chips; it’s the perfect size for us and we’ll probably keep them for awhile. All in all great buy I have no complaints. Comfort sets were also purchased from Amazon; we have Twin over Full. ... show more

  • Good for younger person
Cons- As others said- the instructions/assembly process is tedious. Every little piece comes separately and it’s very easy to assemble pieces backward if you don’t look carefully at the pictures. It took two experienced adults about 90 minutes to assemble this. You definitely need a buddy to hold items in place. The bed is noisy. My son doesn’t mind the squeaks but I can’t imagine an adult tolerating it well. Since it’s metal I think it just is what it is. The ladder hurts your feet. Again, fine for a small child or an occasional overnight guest. But be aware! One piece came with a minor dent. It wasn’t bothersome enough to delay putting it together but worth mentioning. Pros- The construction is solid. Feels very safe and well done for the price. No box spring needed and accommodated any kind of mattress (foam or spring). Manages to have a little feeling of bounce. The upper bunk is deep enough to accommodate a mattress and still have a safety rail (note: not if you add a box spring). I appreciate that. Summary- It works great for my son’s room. For a kid/pre-teen I would buy it again. ... show more

Size: Twin/Full Color: Black
Me gustó mucho el camarote. Es espacioso y resistente , la cama de abajo es de 2 plazas y la de arriba de plaza y media. Se siente resistente y quedó muy bien una vez armado. Estoy satisfecha con la compra.
