  • Great bed for a GrEaT price!! Great bed for a GrEaT price!!
Size: Twin/Full Color: Blue
I ordered this bunk bed for my 10 year old son. The bed was in our price range and looked very sturdy. After purchasing I read reviews. And got scared!! People said it was extremely squeaky. People said it was very cheaply made. But upon delivery I must tell you this comes in an extremely heavy box. Each metal piece is very very heavy. It's very well made. My husband and I put this together in about 4 1/2 hours. We made sure all the screws were tight. And everything was secure. Please follow directions carefully. Bc we would get it together. And then have to unscrew and redo bc we used the wrong piece in the wrong spot. Each bar has a letter on it. Even if it has an identical one. These letters are important. We put some up and then realized we had to take back down bc it was wrong piece. Lol it's frustrating to put together. So please ask for help. I kept waiting on the "Squeaking" everyone had mentioned. But I haven't heard a squeak yet. And I've got 4 kids climbing all over it. I'm overly satisfied with this bed. It accommodates his room so well. The only thing that bothers me is how the ladder is placed. Once at the top of the ladder they have to climb way over the top of the railing. I'm sure it was made that way for safety reasons. But it's kinda hard for my kids to swing their legs over it. They've mastered it now so it's fine. But I wish it had a small opening in the ladder space so they could get in and out easier. Other than that this is a GrEaT bed for a GrEaT price!!! I'm so glad I purchased this!!! ... show more

  • Best metal bunk bed on the market!
Size: Twin/Twin Color: Silver
I cannot be more happy with this purchase! We have never used a metal bunk bed in the past based on the horrible stories I have heard and seen, so I had pretty low expectations. We always used wood, but metal takes up less space and it is more affordable! My friend recommended this bunk bed and boy am I glad that I chose it! The metal material is strong, heavy and arrived in pristine conditions. the assembly process was super easy. We assembled two bunk beds on the same day! each bed probably took about an hour to hour and a half. bed doesnt creak or move when being climbed on. the only thing I would prefer is that the ladder would be stuck to the bed instead of leaning out, just to save more space. but I guess its better this way in making bed sturdier. I got the beds when it was on sale so I got two bunk beds for less then $240! ... show more

  • Good buy! Sturdy and functional.
Size: Twin/Full Color: Silver
This is not a great bunk bed but it is a good bunk bed and an inexpensive one. It is not indestructible but it is pretty sturdy. I would give it 5 stars if it was only compared with other beds that are <$200 but I am comparing it with all of the bunk beds I looked at or have owned. I bought this more than 6 months ago and my 5 YO grandson and 6 YO granddaughter have been using it since without any issues. They really like the bunk beds and have mastered the climb to the top bunk. Be careful where you put it. A bunk bed can give small children easy access to things normally out of reach, like ceiling fans and overhead lights, or the top shelf of a bookcase. Things I like about this bed: 1. The price! 2. Built in ladders on ends of bed won't fall or slip off. 3. I can add an optional trundle beneath the lower bunk. 4. This bed accommodates a full box spring AND mattress on the lower. I did this for 2 reasons... it adds support to the bottom bunk and it reduces head space in the bottom bunk enough to discourage bouncing on the bed without any issues of bumping their heads if they sit up or kneel on the mattress.. 5. It is sturdy. Small kids (~40 pounds each) use it but I have laid on the bottom bunk with them (~180 punds) several times to watch a movie with them. 6. Lots of metal bars (slats) to support the mattresses more evenly distributes the weight and minimizes the chance of bending one from too much force. 7. The top rails are pretty high. I use an 8 inch mattress up there and their is more than 4 inches of rail above the top of the mattress on all 4 sides so the kids won't accidentally roll off of the top bunk in their sleep. Things I don't like about this bed: 1. Aesthetics are lacking. It is a grey metal bed. But I didn't buy it to be pretty and the kids don't care. 2. Setup wasn't simple but I did it on my own using the provided instructions in a couple of hours. Don't make the mistake of thinking that 2 parts that seem the same are the same. Pay close attention to the distinguishing characteristics (like which side a bolt hole is on) called out in the instructions when selecting the parts during assembly. 3. It cannot be setup as 2 separate beds. I knew this before I bought it. Overall, I recommend this bed for younger children. I think it would work well for preteens as well. It was the least expensive bunk bed I found on Amazon but I am very happy with it. It is function at a very affordable price. DISCLAIMER: While I am in no way way associated with either the seller or manufacturer, my grandkids gave me a marshmallow treat for writing this review. ... show more

  • Good product
Very nice bed for the price but it takes pretty much skill to assemble. Very sturdy and a great size for children. Worth the money.

  • Nice project for You and the Family,
Size: Twin/Futon Color: Black
Wooow. This Set is nice, and fits our needs as far as having an extra bed for the Grandkids when they cum over. The top bunk is pretty high and I have 10 ft ceilings. Now I'm getting down to it. !st the weight; this was so heavy to lift and carry and after getting it inside, we decided to just leave on the first floor instead of trying to carry it upstairs to the bedroom. 2nd the assembly; I will say it wasn't difficult to assemble, but it is very challenging if you don't pay close attention to the provided instructions. For instance, The Hinges; When applying hinges to the futon part, make sure you stand in the inside of the bed and not the outside. the hinges have R for right and L for left, so I took the approach going at from the outside and once i thought I was done, turns out I wasn't. so I had to take apart the bottom swipe the hinges. Also pay close attention to the ladder assembly as well. you can easily install them upside down. (Side note) The ladder is very uncomfortable climbing up for an Adult. They hurt your feet standing on them or climbing up. I Can't really comment on assembly time, because we were watching football along with just taking our time. If i am giving a timeline, I would say we began about 5:00 and was done around 8:30ish, but there was no rush our part and it was 4 of us. 3 doing assembling and 1 bringing parts upstairs. It was cool. So maybe you and your family should give it a go, if this is the type of bunk bed set you need. Enjoy!!!!😃 ... show more

  • Affordable solution. Easy assembly. Bed SQUEAKS terribly!!
Size: Twin/Futon Color: White
The bed was easy to assemble. My 11-year old daughter and I were able to complete the entire process without assistance. There were no missing parts, but several of the pieces had damage to the finish. We were thankful to find an affordable solution for a bunk bed. The futon is a bit of a challenge to fold and unfold, but it does stay in place after each transition... although the handles fall off every time, which is frustrating. We don't fold and unfold the lower bunk on a regular basis, because of this hassle. We adapt. My biggest complaint, and one not to be overlooked: this bed SQUEAKS terribly! Every time my 80 pound daughter turns over or moves her legs, the bed squeaks. We have a cat that weighs about 10 pounds, and the bed squeaks, even when the cat jumps on or off the top bunk. It squeaked on day one, and now that we have had the bed for over 3 months, it still squeaks... we have become more accustomed to it, but I am still looking forward to the day when we can afford to replace these squeaky bunk beds! All bolts have been tightened, and several of them have just enough traction to hold the parts together (as I considered placing something between the metal parts that are rubbing together). I have been unable to isolate the joints where the squeaking occurs, as it seems to be coming from the whole frame. Infuriating! We also purchased another style from DHP, and it has the same squeaky problem. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00T2XF934/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_52 It is a very annoying flaw, both to the children who are trying to sleep, and to the rest of the household (although it does act as a sort of bed alarm, giving some warning when the kids are getting out of bed... you begin to recognize the squeaking patterns of ladder use or merely flipping over, while reading in bed). ... show more

  • The price gets five stars, even with minor flaws.
Size: Twin/Twin Color: Black
Please be aware that I am giving this five stars because I have searched in stores and online without finding a bunk bed this inexpensive that has the weight capacity of this one. I have a teen and preteen, so a bed with a 100 lb. weight limit is out of the question. This bed has a 200 lb. top bunk weight limit, so that alone makes it five stars for the price. However, there are a few very minor issues, mostly with the paint job, that might irritate someone who expects perfection at even this rock bottom price. For me, they aren't enough to deduct points from the product. I did not expect a $1000 bed for $160, so I was fine with the tiny flaws. There are a couple of spots where the paint just didn't cover well, and they look almost rusty. It's not the full-on, metal weakening type, but just bare metal, untreated look. They are near the spots the bed joins, so once everything was together, you don't even see them. The slats apparently rubbed together during shipping, and the paint on them is scuffed; again, it's minor, and it looks as though it happened during shipping. The slats were the only thing not individually wrapped, so the rubbing isn't even visible. The bolts do extend from the bed; they aren't flush with the metal. However, they are rounded and coated, so I don't see this as a problem, either. They are intended to be that way. One thing that irritated me a little is that one of the slats is bent. That seemed odd, because it's the only one and they were together in the box, so it seems like it was that way before shipping. It's not enough to affect the sturdiness of the bed. I put that slat near the head of the bed, so little weight will be on it, just in case. Now for the good parts. This bed is very sturdy, very heavy, and it doesn't squeak or sway. While it is very tedious to assemble, it is simple and the instructions are great. Everything you need is included in the box. The instructions say you need two people to assemble it, and that it takes two hours. I HIGHLY recommend that you get help with this, if you can. I couldn't, and I assembled it alone in about an hour, but it was a pain. One warning: the instructions say not to tighten the bolts until the bed is completely assembled, and I cannot stress this too much. DO NOT TIGHTEN THOSE BOLTS UNTIL THE BED IS COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED. I hand-tightened them, and had to take some out a bit, because I had tightened them too much, just with my hands. Update: I bought this in September 2015. In May 2018, it's still strong and sturdy, though squeaky. It has been a great value for me. ... show more

  • very sturdy black metal bunk bed frame- really attractive sleek look ...
Size: Twin/Full Color: Black
Premiium quality, very sturdy black metal bunk bed frame- really attractive sleek look and space saver. Got this for my 2 kids that are aged 7 years old and 3 years old. My parents got me & my sister a wooden bunk bed when I was in elementary school - that wooden bunk bed made me think that all wooden bunks are just junk, no matter how pretty they look in pictures. My sister and I broke the slats on the top bunk of that wooden bunk bed years ago, within 2 weeks of being installed in our room (broke under the weight of the mattress when I bounced a little too hard), rendering it dangerous and useless. So I knew I'd never get one for my kids. This ultra strong metal frame bunk bed is more than perfect - love it. I love that the top bunk rail is also high enough that even with the mattress in, the railing still gives 4-5 inches above the mattress so in case my son rolls around while he sleeps, he will not roll off. On the bottom bunk, there is roomy space for a full size + bed. Cant say enough good things about this sleek, strong, sturdy bunk bed that is worth more than the price we paid for it. LOVE it. Worth every dime of purchase and sooooo glad we got it. ADDED: I also wanted to add that this bunk bed has no sharp edges anywhere. I was trying to hang some clothes on it, and realized that there are no sharp edges anywhere - it is such high quality made specifically for kids that the builders made sure that everything is rounded. Kids cant stab themselves accidentally on any edges. Everything is round and smooth. Again- LOVE this bunk bed. So so glad I got it- such a great (reasonable / inexpensive) price for such a premium quality product. ... show more
