We didn't find a lot, a few coins, a nail, but he was so excited. It is so easy for a young person to use, he is 9 and will keep until he's a teen. Very user friendly. In fact I used his sometime instead of mine. Great price for the Detector that came along with a bag and digging tools. I told him he didn't have to wear/bring the bag, but he insisted. So cute!! My 7yo granddaughter considers herself somewhat of a spy/ treasure hunter/ pirate so she knew exactly what it was and announced she had “the coolest” present out of everybody! She immediately wanted to stop opening presents so she could go check it out! It was very easy to set up and use (for a 7yo!) and it was pretty good at finding some things. It went off on one place and we used the included shovel and rake and dug up a rock. Well, she decided the reason it went off on a rock is because it must have gold in it! Lol! This has already supplied us with hours of (mostly quiet) fun! Thank you!

We bought this for our young son to use at the beach and around the back yard. It was very easy to assemble. Its also a perfect size for our little guy. We used it in a friend's back yard where they hid "pirate treasure" for him. It was a learning curve on the sounds but we did find the coins as well as a few other items in their back yard. We will have to work with it more on depth and metal settings but overall we are happy with it.

When my grandson and granddaughter moved here last June my wife and I would take them to the beach. I told him how I used to metal detect and all of the things I used to find. He got all excited and said I wish I had a metal detector to go with you. You can't imagine the look on his face Christmas morning when he opened his gift. He was so excited! And then much to my surprise I got the shock of my life when I opened a gift from m Step Daughter, wife and son in law with a MINELAB Equinox 800. Now my grandson and I will be hunting together.

We just opened this gift today for our grandsons birthday and it does not work We thought it was bad batteries but that did not solve the problem The return window closed on November 15 but his birthday was today Can you please provide return info so we can return it for one that works

Instructions were a bit much for me and my nephew. The tone is very loud. No way to turn it down that we could figure out. Too sensitive my our liking. Hope to get more practice soon and hope it wasn’t a lame gift.

I had been wanting to get a junior metal detector for my curious, 4 year old son. He loves finding treasures in the yard and showing me what he's found. We live in an old house, so I was curious to see what we could find in the yard. It's been something fun for us to do together and has been accurate so far. I read reviews on all of the junior metal detectors I could find, and I'm glad this is the one I went with.
