I was obsessed with the idea of finding treasure with a metal detector when I was a kid, and finally got one as an adult several years ago. I used it about 3 times before I got tired of lugging it and all the necessarily accessories (which you don't think about) out to the beach and never finding anything. When I saw this I thought maybe it was time to give it another go, and see how technology might have improved over the years. Upon opening the box, i thought "oh boy, this is just a toy" but after I put it together I was pleasantly surprised. It's light and adjustable, with a much bigger coil than my first metal detector. The controls are easy to use and seem pretty standard. One thing this one has that my old one didn't is volume control, which is HUGE. I guess metal detectors still take 9-volt batteries, which is a bit of a downer, but they were included so i like that. The bag is handy, seems fairly nice, and is something I will definitely use. I tested this in my yard and found a small washer. :) I'm on my way to finding treasure! ... show more

    • A good detector with a few issues
Its good at detecting things in the ground, the screen is informative the handle comfortable, and it comes with some nice accessories such as earphones and digging tools. The two issues I have with it is one, its use of 9-volt batteries to power it. I am not a fan of 9vs as there expensive and hard to find rechargeable's. It would have been so much better if it used a more common battery time or had a battery built in that was chargeable. 2nd the round end on my is loose and it's hard to tighten it enough to keep it from moving around.     • Fun activity to walk the beach with - lightweight and a bag is included.
I ordered this metal detector for my son and me to use while walking on the beach, and we had such a fun time with it! Although we mostly found junk items and no real treasure, it made for a great day at the beach. This metal detector is perfect for beginners like us, and I love how lightweight it is, making it easy to carry everything with us. Overall, it’s a great tool for some fun outdoor exploration!     • Dependable detector-
I have used this metal detector in my yard when my kids have lost things from keys to throwing knives. It has been a dependable unit that zeros in and makes finding things easy. I like the head set and the adjustable volume, and the readout panel is easy to understand. It isn't too heavy to carry around either. I like how I can old the unit and place it in the carry bag, and it comes with a small compact shovel- it is ok for sand but not made for real digging in hard pack dirt. I have yet to find any real treasure with this but I'm always hopeful! ... show more

We have a couple of metal detectors that we take out mainly when the family gets together, and we have enough people that we wanted to get a another one. What really attracted me to this detector was the claim that it was a "professional" grade quality unit but that is an outright fabrication. To be honest the look and feel alone of this detector makes it feel more like a toy than an adult version let alone one for professionals. The screws that are used to screw the handle, top part, and base together are plastic and when assembling you need to take care not to strip them out or worse. When you actually get out and use it the results are equally disappointing. The three readings that you see in the photos was all taken from the same spot where I know a gas line runs. It jumps around and gives you different readings regardless of how you try and tweak it. The base also doesn't stay in place and wants to tilt down even if you try and crank it down, and with a plastic nut that won't last long. As a final point, the digging tool is made using thin metal and won't take much to bend out of shape. Even the screw design is poor because it doesn't hold the metal support piece in place but goes over the top of it. So based on these points I have choice but to not recommend this detector. ... show more

    • Great detector for casual use!
This is a great metal detector set up for the 1st time user / casual user Have only used this 1x but was very good at detection of about 25 items while walking a beach. No valuable items were found but the detection was accurate and items were present each time! Will be using this agin in about a week and am very happy with the performance of this detector! Nice kit with everything needed to just go out and look for items, happy to have this! PS: tested at home on different metals and the detector was accurate on all! ... show more

    • Great quality functions great easy to operate fun to use
I think this is a very good detector that’s very easy to use. It’s simple small and easy to maintain as well. The sounds and buttons works as expected and it detects pretty good. I think it’s a pretty accurate tools that’s useful at the beach or when losing things outside like keys. It’s also good at finding change. It’s got a nice look and it’s also user friendly.
