It is the same as the less expensive one branded as the Chinlin Tiger Spade but I do like it better without the branding stamped into the digger and printed on the sheath. It is almost the same as the Dr. Otek digger, same factory apparently as they are almost identical. I would have preferred the Dr. Otek did not say Dr. Otek on it also. They do have a tendency to snap as reviewers for the Otek version have mentioned and I gave one of these branded with "Chinlin Spade" from their other listing to a friend and he broke it right away on the 2nd use I believe it was. Just know that the handle attachment is an option but it almost doubles the weight you carry around on an already heavy digger and the extension handle can provide more leverage than the digger can handle if doing heavy prying with it. An issue also is they did not provide a way to carry the extension handle in or on the sheath. If it is attached to the digger it is too big and cumbersome to be left attached in the sheath on the hip. I personally use lighter digers than this one and the Otek version. I had originally attached a long pole to one to use it standing but I just do not think it would make it too long without snapping the blade or handle off like that after my friend broke his just using the included extension handle, it does work with a pole but not as good as a root slayer made for that. I like the nomad for a standing type shovel to use detecting.

This is a very sturdy digging tool and the extra handle length (screw on) is in my opinion the way to go. The metal and the whole tool is made of very strong materials. I might buy another just to carry in my jeep for a survival and digging tool.

I dislike nothing about this I was very impressed and shocked on the quality of this tool with the extension for the handle and just the weight of it you could tell they used toddler material very well designed I'm a thousand percent happy with this tool and I would buy one again if I needed to

Very strong and the extension handle will be easier to use. The sheath is very well made.

Really, this is a digging tool that even an old guy like me can use. It is heavy duty, and the extension makes it all the more valuable to me, because I can easily dig into the sides of my cutout without making the hole substantially larger from the top. Ok, I will have to admit that I do that regularly due to my lack of expertise in pin pointing on my machine.
