I have recently, last 2-3 years, really come to enjoy Hitachi/Metabo pneumatic tools. The just work, light weight and excellent features. This stapler promises to continue that experience, minus one item. And, it may be no big deal to you, it really mattered to me. Hitachi/Metabo used to include either a switch or a different trigger to go from sequential fire (trigger pull) to contact fire (nose contact). This tool does not have that switch nor that part. Some of the work I do requires i be more specific and use a trigger pull, while also needing rapid (nose contact) firing on the same piece of work. H/M has a tag attached to the gun, stating to contact them for the other, optional, trigger. I called them. They won't send me a trigger unless I sign up and become establish a client account with them by going through their credit department. What!? I then went on-line to look for the trigger. $100-$150 for the trigger from retailers. This really hurt their standing with me. The tool is no cheaper, we just don't get all the functions and parts, like USED to, included. Grrrrrr! ... show more

First time using a Metabo gun. I have used Hitachi, Senco, and Bostich for many years to shingle roofs. It very rarely jammed and when it did was easier than most guns I've used to clear. The casing surface is easily scratched (no heavy paint protection), but a couple heavy duty rubber bands took care of that. I Haven't used it long enough to see how seals are, but I never had a problem with Hitachi so if the same people designed it I wouldn't expect a problem. For first use, I drove about 2000 2.5" staples with one jam that was easily rectified. The reason for less than 5 stars is that the metal pieces on the outside of the staple gun have begun to rust after less than a month in my garage. This tool has never been left outside and has never seen moisture. I sprayed it with silicon spray to seal out humidity in an attempt to slow future corrosion- we'll see what happens but I am disappointed that my new staple gun is already corroding. Over almost 20 years, I have never had this problem on any of my pneumatic tools and I own about 8 different types of pneumatic nail guns and staplers. ... show more
