Just get it if you are thinking about it. It's a little on the expensive side but its extremely worth it. It's not too heavy to carry around, just bring an extra bag with all your normal fencing tools and throw a couple batteries in. I went through hundreds of staples and didn't run out of battery. It is pretty strong and has no problem going right into oak fence boards. A few I did have to hit once or twice with a hammer but that was only if I was near a gnarly knot in the wood.

As a rancher who has spent hours hand nailing fence, I thought I had a good system with a pneumatic stapler a few years ago. But that required hauling the compressor, hose, staple gun., generator, power cord, and gasoline out on the tractor just to staple fence wire. While the price is really high, it’s worth it if you have more than a few staples to install. Works great and no issues yet. I nailed up over 1,000 linear feet of six foot. 14 gauge no-climb horse wire for my exotic animal ranch last week and I was able to single handedly install each roll in about 30 minutes each, using tractor and cable puller to stretch the wire. Certainly cheaper ways to do it, but this is the easiest and fastest way I’ve found.

Holy smokes this thing is a beast and the staples that go with it are no laughing matter. It's perfect for hog/cattle panels and 4x4 or bigger posts. I originally purchased to attach hardware cloth for a chicken run, but the smallest compatible staples at 1.5" it was far to excessive and aggressive for. This was perfect for setting up the pig pen. The tool is pretty heavy with a 9ah flex battery but it totally saved your thumbs from an erratic hammer.

We bought a new five acre property with a perimeter fence of existing wooden posts with three horizontal 2x8 boards across each span. The posts are decent but the 2x8s are in bad shape so we decided that the least expensive move would be to fortify the entire thing with 60" welded wire fence. We were seriously iffy on spending over $700 on this gun plus $100 for the consumables but the thought of pounding or screwing 2000 feet of fence up was a non-starter but we had to do something to contain our city dogs who have just discovered the joy of chasing rabbits. Anyway, were super happy we bought this - and the dogs are happy that they get to run with no restraints on. It's very heavy and wore my arm out after about 500' but it's super easy to use and load and it drives the heavy staple in with authority. The only thing I would improve if I could is (besides my aim) the gun could really benefit with a visible arrow showing where the staple would center. Sounds silly but it's a big gun and when your moving fast I missed the wire a lot and at $100 per box for staples every miss hurt lol.

Banging on your fence posts and beating up your hands trying to drive fencing staples by hand in not the way I like to spend my time. Dewalt has solved this with their 9 GA cordless fencing stapler. With one hand on the fence post and the other on the stapler, Dewalt has solved this problem with the squeeze of a trigger. This stapler will give you a work out as it weighs in around 9 lbs without battery or staples

The tool works well the little I have used it so far so long term durability is still an unknown. Knocked a star off for price and weight. Other than that I would recommend.
