Last summer was a real scorcher, and it sucks that my house is so well air conditioned, but I have nothing for the garage when I'm working out there. When I saw the MEPTY Evaporative Cooler come across my feed, I thought that I had the solution to my heat problems. Turns out I was right! This is a 3-in-1 function: cooling, humidifying, and fan only. I've only tested two of them because I have no use for a humidifier. Both functions work as advertised. I was able to circulate the garage air with the 'fan only', and I was able to cool the garage with the cooling function. Full disclosure: I tested this unit in March, when the temperature wasn't at its peak. I'll be using it for real this summer, and then we'll see how the wind blows (see what I did there? Heh, heh). The one concern I have with this unit is its ability to cool an entire garage. I expect that it should work fine in my single garage, but I also have a double garage, and I'm not sure it's going to do an adequate cooling job in the middle of summer. I'll test that and report back if I have any issues. Overall, this unit tests well and I expect that it will do what I need. Recommended.

We moved into a new home and I have a large 6 car garage. I wanted something to at least try and cool the space and was surprised at how well this worked. It kept the garage cool enough to not sweat on those super warm days so I would say it did it’s job for such a large space

This reminds me of the old school icebox. You put the ice in it and you're so cold that you're trembling. This device, however, is upgraded. It works to cool the air, as a humidifier and as a fan. It's good for the indoors and outdoors. We're using it in the upstairs bedroom because that's where the heat travels. During the summer months, that room is the hottest room in the house. I appreciate that it's energy efficient. It won't hurt the pocket. It really is a good product at a good price.

I did my homework well that this type of machines works the best in dry heat weather like in Nevada. I find it a good cooler for various settings like home, office, or bedroom. However, I noticed that the cooling effect may not be as strong as expected, particularly in larger spaces or during hot weather. While the device offers different speeds and wind effects for customization, I sometimes find the noise level to be slightly higher than desired, especially on the higher settings. Overall, it provides decent functionality for cooling needs but may not be powerful enough for larger areas or those seeking quieter operation.

The MEPTY model we're evaluating (JH-310Y) is not the same as either item described and pictured on this page. The review link directs us to these items which are more expensive, is physically larger, and have higher capacity water tanks. If you don't have an AC unit and are looking to upgrade from a traditional oscillating fan, an evaporative cooling fan is the next best thing. The features are pretty much standard for a ductless cooling fan. I appreciate that the directional louvers are broken down into two sections. However, they could be built better. In our excitement to unbox the fan, one of the slats popped out of joint, but was easily put into place. After a quick review on its internals, my 7-year old daughter got it set up and running. Maintenance is not complicated, even if you have never owned an evaporative cooling fan. Access to the wet curtain requires the removal of 11 screws, which is a pain when cleaning it and the tank monthly or preparing the fan for off-season storage, but the old engineer in me appreciates the inconvenience. However, I like that the fan is easy to service, because its components are laid out in a simple manner and easily accessed if needed. The fan's control panel is easy to understand and operate, but the "natural" mode lacks smooth transition and the motor control can be jerky and disjointed. The standard mode is much better. The fan motor isn't the quietest, but I'd gladly put up with a little noise than endure sweltering heat at night. The remote control is easy to use and intuitive, but its too small and can easily be misplaced in the couch. The MEPTY JH-310Y is not the greatest evaporative cooling fan we've used, but for the price and effectiveness, it's absolutely worth considering for a small to medium sized space.
