The plugs are the right shape and function, I'm not sure why they don't have every pin on the socket, I understand not having every pin wired, but some of the wires do have a function for advanced users. Anyways, I bought this to install a radio in a XC70, the radio and faceplate I bought were junk, so I gave up on the process. I was going to keep this harness, but the fact that the plastic is one of those I believe ages poorly (These are not Nylon, I think ABS or HDPE) and it only had the pins that were connected to a wire (where would I buy separate pins from?), I decided to return this item along with the defective radio and faceplate. But I give it a 5 star because it did what it said it would do, nothing more. ... show more

    • Works, fits well. nicely labeled and pre-stripped wires. They're hard to use crimp connectors on.
These work well for connecting my Pioneer radio. The wire colors are all correct and the names of the functions are even printed on the wire, which makes it easier to install. Wire is thin, probably 18-20 AWG, but acceptable based on a speaker wire gauge - length chart. And I would wish for a thicker gauge for the power connections. Again, maybe it's acceptable. The thin wire just makes using crimp connectors hard. You need a good crimp tool so the wires are crimped securely into the butt connectors. But I just used wire nuts instead as my crimp tool couldn't crush the butt connectors enough to hold this wire. Note that some pins/wires from factory are missing, like a wire for the headlights being on and the wire for speed sensitive volume. That's okay because they're pointless; you would need a special canbus adapter box to be able to use those wires. ... show more
