  • BED ASSIST RAIL
Turned out to be quite sturdy & helpful to me after surgery. I was skeptical ~ but it is placed in my bed by my PT / OT therapist. It is placed high up by my pillows-the head of the bed. EZ to reach and helps me pull up to sitting position much easier after surgery. GOOD quality. It is very long so it gets placed waaay inside between your box spring & your top mattress. STURDY. HOLDS ME UPRIGHT WHEN I USE IT TO PULL UP ON. SOFT HANDLE TO HOLD ONTO. PT & OT instructed me on how to use it properly. RECOMMEND. ... show more

  • PERFECT. Sturdy - takes up very little real estate.
Honestly, this bedrail is PERFECT. .......PERRRFECT! 1.) It is easy to install. 2.) It takes up very little space across the bedside, but is still just wide enough (depending on its position) to prevent someone from rolling out of bed; this was an ADDED bonus my father (a proud man who wasn't exactly excited to receive this unexpected "gift") pointed out himself as a "plus". He said he'd fallen out of bed before....something I didn't previously know! 3.) Because it has 2 feet that touch the floor (instead of just being slipped between the mattress and boxspring, which could "give way" a little), this also doubles as a solid support for assisting in standing up out of bed (like a cane/walker), AND - when climbing into bed, the 2 feet serve as a solid "hoist" point that allows the user to maximize the use of arm strength in addition to climbing in bed using leg power. It's honestly just enough without being "too much". HIGHLY RECOMMEND Pray for my daddy. Even at 50 years young, a girl still needs her dad sometimes. God bless each of you! ... show more

  • Bed Rail
Worked good for my 100yo grandmother.

  • Easy to assemble but needs a better range of heights
The only problem I have is my 85 year old dad uses this and because the legs are barely off the floor, I had to use a rug under it which makes it slightly wobbly. This is due to where you have to set the pegs and if your mattress height is between two pegs, or slightly higher than the extended length you'll run into this problem. The other problem is I am a 63 year old woman with not a lot of strength, and it was hard for me on a king bed to get the safety strap under the mattress to the other side to secure the rail. I do like the non-slip grip and the bar that goes under the mattress is a good length to help with stability. The height of the grab bar is at a good height for leverage. The storage pouch is useless except for extremely lightweight objects and as others have pointed out, the clips are flimsy. Overall, this helps my dad pull himself up to get out of bed and to sturdy himself as he stands since the mattress is somewhat high. It was a good recommendation from his physical therapist. ... show more

  • Strong, sturdy, easy to assemble. Makes getting out of bed so much easier!
I recently purchased this for myself and have been very impressed with the quality, ease to assemble, and strength. Because I only need it when my back hurts from gardening or lifting something too heavy, I chose to NOT attach the handrail to the bed frame with the strap. That way when my back is better, I can easily remove the handrail from the bed, disassemble the horizontal bar from the vertical rail, and store both pieces in the closet. The handrail is strong and safe enough for me when the horizontal bar is pushed firmly between the mattress and box springs. My daughter’s father-in-law used one strapped to his bed frame. He felt very safe pulling himself up to a sitting position on the side of the bed with only one hand after he suffered various medical issues including a stroke. My daughter, an Occupational Therapist, made sure her FIL was safely able to use the handrail until his health failed and he needed a medical bed. ... show more

  • Big help after hip replacement
Wish I’d had this product before I had my hip replaced. My recovery went smoothly other than difficulty getting in and out of my tall bed. Discovered this device online after struggling for over a week. This aide, combined with a leg lifter, allowed me to be self sufficient at getting in and out of bed rather than relying on someone to help me. My daughter installed it ( one of the straps broke but she just tied it off) and then it was easy to use. It feels sturdy on the side of my bed, even after nearly two months of use. I simply grasp the curved top and use my upper body to leverage my way into a sitting position. Love the side pocket for my phone and Kindle. Highly recommend this device for post surgical recovery, especially if you have a high mattress/bed frame. ... show more

  • Bed rails
Not as sturdy as I anticipated

  • Very Useful After Back Surgery
I bought this assist rail after back surgery. In the hospital, beds have rails built-in to aid in adjusting position, turning over, getting in and out of bed. At home, I had nothing to provide such maneuvering help. This device slides between the mattress and box and has feet that sit on the floor, so overall it's very stable. For getting out of bed, it provides a solid anchor to sit up and swivel my legs off the bed, and it also helps in rolling over during the night when needed. Overall, very good product at a reasonable price. ... show more
