Description

The BCR901 is a USB self-powered simplex card scanner which is fully TWAIN compliant and works with hundreds of other scanning applications, including all electronic healthcare and medical practice management systems which support TWAIN. It is used industry wide to scan medical insurance cards, driver licenses, laminated IDs, photos, etc. Scan-ID LITE The included Scan-ID LITE software is a powerful card management system which enables you to scan and manage medical cards, licenses, and other IDs. The system scans and creates a searchable (and exportable) database of the scanned cards. Card information is manually keyed in. ScanToFile The included ScanToFile application allows you to scan cards and automatically save the images directly to PDF, JPEG, or TIFF files on your PC. Vertical or Horizontal Scanner Mount This versatile scanner can be mounted and used vertically or horizontally. Vertical mount has 2 significant advantages: - Reduced Wrist Strain: Vertical card insertion reduces wrist strain, and is preferred for extended scanning periods. - Small Footprint: The compact (2.5 x 3.0 inch) footprint is at least 40% smaller than horizontal scanners, and fits easily into a small or limited desk space. - Runs on Windows 11/10/8/7/XP - 1 year parts and labor warranty is included

    • Works Well For My Needs - Highly Recommended
This Medical Insurance Card and ID Scanner works well for my needs and produces surprisingly accurate scans. We are using this scanner to manage membership at our indoor range by scanning the Driver License and using the BizCardReader database software. The scanner drivers installed easily and the device was recognized almost immediately after connecting with the included USB cable. I have tried the scanner both with and without the included cradle, and it works well both ways. The ScanToFile software is good for making copies of cards, Driver Licenses, and other small cards. I like that it can scan the Driver License barcodes and save the user's data. There are a lot options in the software that it took some experimenting to figure out, but it now works just the way I need it to work. We have had our first card readers since 2019 and I just bought two more for the computers that did not have them. We have never had any issue. Simple to use. I bought this scanner for my business and its been wonderful ever since. Easy install. Downloaded and installed the latest software and driver first before connecting the scanner. Software can be minimized and set for auto-scan and the folder to save to, so as soon as an ID card is placed at the slot of the scanner, it will scan in just a few seconds and pop up a scanned image with the option to input data it and then save it in the defined folder. I just bought this and installed. It does scan but will not put info into text boxes as they show, you have to do manually. I have tried to call them, BUT THEY DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE ALL THEY WANT IS EMAILS. SENT 3 EMAILS FOR SUPPORT AND YET HAVE NOT HEARD A WORD FROM THEM NOW 4 DAYS. GETTING READY TO RETURN THE ITEM. i AM SURE IF THEY WOULD COMMUNICATE THEY COULD ADVISE AN EASY FIX, BUT THAT DOES NOT SEEM TO HAPPEN. BEWARE NO SUPPORT ... show more

I bought this card scanner for my medical office. We have to scan insurance cards to attach to our patient records. The scanner is smaller in size making it ideal for desktop applications.     • It ok, does the basics
We have using this for a while now. It does the basics in scanning but if you want to use all of the functions that it is supposed to have you have to pay for an upgrade license which you do by calling. I wished I would have known that ahead of time or read more of the reviews. I probably would have gone with something else. I have also had to uninstall and reinstall the software twice in six months. It just seems to lose its ability to communicate with the scanner. Our offices were trying to use a regular scanner for license and ins files. The clarity was not there like we needed. After some research we now have these buzzard scanners in all offices.
