  • So comfortable
I have 3 under 3 and I've tried every breast pump out there and I always thought I wasn't able to produce much milk but this has really helped. So easy and comfortable to use. I love that it's compatible with the in style pump I received from the hospital so I did not have to purchase a completely new unit. ... show more

  • Game changer
These are fantastic! I don't respond well to silicone flanges so it is nice that these are plastic. The plastic is smooth and these clean easily. With only 3 parts (4 if you include the O ring) they are very easy to take apart, clean, and put back together. I love that these cups are not huge and deep, so I can move my arms around without knocking them. I have a large chest so this was very important to me. The tunnels are longer than I thought. I have elastic tissue, so tunnel length is important. I did have to add a long insert and kinda sticky silicone cushion to one side top make the tunnel longer and ensure that my nipple didn't get pulled in too far. I have used these with 2 different pumps now and both work well. I'm actually able to empty well on lower, gentle suction and they take half the time of my wearable pump. My overall milk output has been about the same as with my wall pump and flanges. I do have to empty the cups halfway through pumping during my morning pump, but they pour easily. I am very happy with these. PS: sometimes there's a little milk in the tunnel after pumping. You have 2 options. 1. Stuff a tissue down and soak it up. 2. When pouring into a bottle, continue tipping cup over (spout still in bottle) until milk flows from tunnel, over spout, and into bottle. (If anyone wants a picture of this, let me know.) ... show more

  • Solid hands-free pumping option
Alright, I’ve spent countless hours reading reviews about hands-free pumps trying to find the *absolute best option*… I don’t think this is it, but it’s definitely helped me a lot on my pumping journey. Pros: - obviously, hands-free, but only if you can conveniently put the pump itself in a pocket or something - it’s a bit big so has to go in a back pocket of pants or a large sweater/hoodie pocket etc. - very easy to clean, easier than my Spectra and Maymom parts; it’s only 3 pieces! - lightweight, easy to travel with (stuff in a tote or large purse) - can be completely hidden under shirt, though the tubing does have to stick out - suction level seems good, I’ve never had to go above level 5 - I haven’t had any leaking issues except for when I didn’t have it assembled correctly (but also I can’t fully bend over or do any rigorous activity) Cons: - way overpriced, it’s ridiculous that I have to spend like $90 if I want more than one pair of cups - also if you need any replacement parts they’re not super cheap, especially if you buy them from the Medela website directly (better if you can find them on here because the shipping will be way cheaper, but some parts I’ve struggled to find on Amazon) - even though it comes with two sets of shields (21mm and 24mm), it only comes with ONE set of cup parts and ONE set of o-rings, so you have to wash stuff after every pump regardless (make sure you have the o-rings properly installed!!! they will leak if you don’t!!) - only available in two sizes so if you’re not a size 21 or 24mm nipple, you have to buy separate flange inserts (not sold by Medela) - pump is a bit loud, like I’ve been pumping near other people before and they ask “what’s that noise??”, but I doubt it’s the loudest pump out there - not intuitive to figure out how to open or assemble when first using it (I recommend finding a how-to video first, which I didn’t think I needed to do but in hindsight 🤷♀️) - kinda hard to open; I have to use a towel to pry it open because it hurts my thumb otherwise - does not have clear amount markers on the side so you have to measure it out after you pump (I use a breast milk storage bag on a small digital scale) - there’s been a few times where they just could not get good suction; I think if they’re even remotely wet from the last washing, that causes issues with suction - the pump has a touch screen and it’s a bit sensitive, so the buttons might accidentally get activated in your pocket or while you’re holding it (ouch! went from suction level 3 up to 9 in my pocket and I had no idea what was happening at first) - also the touch screen has randomly frozen on me at least twice that I can remember, had to force it off and start the pump session over - pretty difficult to hold my baby while wearing these but I can lift him from the floor to his bassinet or simple movements like that (can carefully clean kitchen or fold laundry, I’ve also used them while driving without issue - obviously put them on and take them off while you’re safely stopped!) I know it seems like a lot of cons, but again, these have made a huge difference in my pumping journey considering that my other pump is the big Spectra S2 which is nowhere near as portable and is definitely not conveniently hands-free. With this pump, I’m able to sit on the floor and be with baby while pumping, I can do basic chores or use it in the car, and I can use it around other people without my boobs or nipples fully hanging out. The pictures I attached here show me from the side with and without the cups in - they are pretty big so it’s not something I *like* to use out in public but I have done it in a pinch several times. I hope this review is helpful to anyone trying to decide what pump to buy! ... show more

  • Useless collection cups
I wanted to use the hands-free collection cups on my Pump In Style but cleverly, Medela ensured that you need to buy a whole new pump and tubing for that, so reluctantly I did. Once they arrived I sanitized and pumped while going about my day only to be disappointed that it only got a fraction of the Pump In Style and regular collection cups. After using it a couple more times with minor adjustments the milk yield still have not improved. Upon investigation, I realised that the hands-free collection cups seem to allow small amounts of pressure in overtime, weakening the suction capability, thus pulling less milk. I checked them for cracks but there weren’t none. It just seems like the cups just do not make a good seal in general. I held the hands-free cups in my hands to cover any areas where I thought air might be getting in and was able to get a decent yield. However, once you get a large amount of milk in these cups, getting the milk out safely is like a military operation. Needless to say, spills ensued, and that was the last dealing that I had with these so-called hands-free collection cups. I can deal with the fact that these didn’t work properly and just get a refund. However, the fact that I had to get these in the first place when Medela could just so easily make their cups and tubing universal across all machines just seems like greed on their part. Juggling breastfeeding, working and looking after a newborn is stressful enough without this. Things like this that make me understand why some women would rather just use formula. ... show more

  • Missing Tubing but Medela is great
The cups arrived without tubing. I will be contacting Medela support. Hopefully they can help but these cups are too expensive to not have all of the parts. If I can get tubing I will update the review. Update: I contacted Medela customer service and they sent me replacement tubing. They even sent me better tubing than what came with the cups. The cups come with tiny tubing that you connect to tubing you have and they sent me the handsfree tubing to replace it. ... show more

  • Easy to use!
Fits nicely in almost all bras and with only 3 parts. It’s easy to wash between pumps. Just make sure they are put together tightly and properly or you’ll have some leakage. Otherwise soo much better than the traditional flanges and bottles!
