I really love the Medela Harmony Manual Breast Pump! This is actually my second one, and it has easily been my favorite manual pump out of the ones I’ve tried. My first Harmony lasted me about seven months with frequent use before it stopped working, and I liked it enough that I immediately bought another one. It’s comfortable, easy to use, and I’m able to pump much quicker with it than with other manual pumps I’ve tried. One of my favorite things about it is how easy it is to clean. There aren’t a ton of little parts to take apart and wash, which makes such a difference when you’re pumping regularly. It also comes with two replacement values. I also love how simple it is to grab when I don’t want to deal with setting up an electric pump. It’s compact, convenient, and works incredibly well for such a simple pump. I would definitely recommend it, especially for moms looking for a comfortable, efficient, and easy-to-clean manual pump!

The Medela Harmony Manual Breast Pump has been such a convenient little lifesaver! It’s lightweight, simple to use, and perfect for those times when I don’t want to pull out a full electric pump. I love that it’s compact enough to toss in a diaper bag and take anywhere. The handle is comfortable, the suction is easy to control, and it’s surprisingly efficient for a manual pump. I have both a wearable breast pump and the Medela Harmony manual pump, and this one gives me the same amount of output—or sometimes even more—in a fraction of the time I can also massage around my breasts while pumping, which makes it much easier to maximize output I appreciate having that control, especially when I’m trying to fully empty and get as much milk as possible\. I can see how using a manual pump could become tiring, especially during longer pumping sessions, but for me, the efficiency makes it completely worth it It’s also held up well and feels durable enough for regular use **Strengths:** Excellent output, fast, easy to control, allows for breast massage while pumping, durable, convenient for targeted pumping **Weaknesses:** It can be tiring to use manually during longer sessions This has become one of my favorite pumping tools, and I reach for it more often than I expected

Cheaper construction than expected, but a good pump overall

I've mixed feelings on this pump. On one hand, I love it. The suction control is awesome, and I do feel like I am able to remove milk at a faster rate than my electric pumps. The pump parts themselves are easy to clean and feel sturdy. On the other hand, I was surprised by some of the lower quality aspects of the item considering the fact that it costs $30. The milk collection bottle that comes with the pump is a lot flimsier than I have come to expect from any kind of pumping bottles or milk collection units. When squeezed with relative force, you are able to push in the sides of the bottle. Also, after only a few times going through my dishwasher, the measurement markings on the outsides began to come off. This was fairly disappointing, as I rely on the measurement markings to know whether I have pumped adequately. I also was less confident just throwing the pump in a bag when I traveled for fear of the bottle getting crushed. One aspect that I do like about this pump is that the connection is a standard bottleneck size. After about a month, when the milk collection bottle lost its markings and had received several dents that would not come out, I simply switched to screwing in a doc Brown bottle to collect the milk. That seems to work perfectly fine. All in all, I am happy with the purchase, I just wish that the milk collection bottle had been a slightly higher quality. Especially given the fact that I have purchased many kinds of third party bottles and collection kits for cheap, and have never seen as low of quality as that bottle was.

I honestly can’t recommend the Medela Hand Pump enough. Before buying it, I felt like I needed every “better” or more expensive option. I tried portable wearable pumps, my Spectra, and the Haakaa. Looking back, I wish I had skipped most of them because this simple little hand pump has outperformed all of them for me. The biggest difference is the control. I can adjust the suction and pace exactly how I want, which helps me get a much better letdown. What used to take me about 30 minutes with my electric pumps now often takes around 10 minutes with the Medela hand pump—and I frequently get more milk. My wearable Eufy pumps were especially frustrating. If they weren’t sitting perfectly, I’d sometimes pump for half an hour and get almost nothing. The Haakaa never really worked well for me either. It’s kind of funny that the most basic pump ended up being the best one. It’s inexpensive, simple, easy to clean, and has honestly been one of the best breastfeeding purchases I’ve made. If you’re debating whether it’s worth trying, especially if you’ve been struggling with wearable pumps, I absolutely think it is.
