    • It has clear pros and cons
I'm still in my for 30 days with this, so I may update my review, but here are my initial reactions. PROS: — There are complaints in the reviews about the smell being horrible and not going away. For me, it was definitely an unpleasant smell, but very minimal to start and essentially gone in a few days (as promised). And to be clear, I'm pretty intolerant of smells, so I'd be more likely to criticize this if it'd been bad. — It seems very well constructed and the memory foam is packed. The size is ideal for most people. It's got heft, but not too much. — The zipper is truly inconsequential. It's very well hidden, and you don't feel it. Likewise for the seams. — The memory foam (according to the company) is among the highest standards for minimal VOCs. So you're not sleeping for a third of your life breathing in the off-gassing of recycled Chinese motor oil. (I have no idea if that's a thing, but you get the point...) CONS: — The fabric of the provided cover is not comfortable if you sleep with any of your clothes off. It's a very fine velour, which sounds nice, but it's actually a bit scratchy. I'm sure it would be okay for those who wear sleepwear, but it may bother you if you don't. I'm still not sure. Unfortunately, the two additional covers MedCline offers (blue and gray) are the same. Also, FYI, it's an 80/20 cotton/poly blend if you're concerned about plastics. — Why did Medcline *not* make this a full U-shape like some competitors' body pillows? I'm guessing cost, but the problem is, this J-shape means you don't have the benefit on *both* sides. Not all side-sleepers stay on one side; many switch during the night. And this pillow means you either lose the benefit on one side or you have to wake up and flip the pillow over. More likely, though, being asleep, you just end up switching sides and losing the benefit. The pillow is also quite a bit bulky to be flopping it around during the night. — The U-bend is very flexible. This is probably a good thing overall, but it *does* mean that you absolutely can end up on your back. The U-bend will simply open up. This has happened to me multiple times. So this idea that it cradles you and keeps you from ending up on your back is flat-out false. The U-bend can flex out to nearly an L shape. If you have a tendency to end up sleeping on your back, just know this alone will not stop you. It might help "train" you out of that, but it's not resistant enough to stop you. — Putting your downside arm under the pillow seems to be a point of contention among reviewers. My take is that the memory foam *might* adjust for this for most people, but don't count on it. In my case, because I have a super-firm mattress, my downside arm is falling asleep under this pillow in some instances. I can't speak for you, though — it depends on exactly how you sleep. Just know that, as of now, I'm not convinced that it's a guarantee the foam will conform enough for everyone. — As at least one reviewer noted, this pillow does "sleep hot" (retains body heat). For some people, this will be an obvious benefit — but if you tend to get hot while sleeping, then plan on turning up your A/C or night fan a notch. SUMMARY: Right now, I'm giving this a 3.5 stars... rounding up to 4 to be optimistic and generous. As I wrote, I may update this after my first 30 days are up. As of now, I'm not sure I'll keep it. I'm not convinced. The bottom line, though, is that your experience may be better or worse based on the factors I mentioned above. I can see this being a "5" for some people and a "2" for others. So hopefully my spelling these factors out will help you in your decision! ... show more

    • It has a smell of resin.
The pillow itself works stirdy, but it smells. It smells of resine so I hope it is not toxic. Has anyone looked into the safety of this product?

    • Can’t sleep without it!
I have the Medcline reflux wedge system at home and it’s made a huge difference for reflux symptoms. I also sleep on my left side and was prone to tension headaches, nerve issues in my arms, and my arms would fall asleep during the night. The wedge system has improved all of those issues as well. I recently was visiting family for a week and thought I could make do with regular pillows. What was I thinking?!? The first morning I woke up after a rough night of sleep. Before I even got out of bed I ordered the body pillow. It’s not a replacement for the full wedge system, but certainly helped make a generic cheap wedge more comfortable and effective. Thank goodness for Prime delivery because one day later I was back to decent sleeping. It took several hours to fully expand because it was super cold and on a delivery truck all day. Thankfully my family member can keep it for me whenever I come to visit! ... show more

    • Not the best for me
I was hoping this item would solve my challenges with finding a comfy position for my neck. As a side sleeper in my mid-60's, locating the best pillow has been an expensive adventure. The contents of the product are good, just way more than I need. Instructions provided show how to pull out some of the stuffing to make the pillow mold to your needs. I did that step, no problem. What this product doesn't do is provide adequate comfort for my side sleeping shoulder and arms. The linear structure of the pillow made it difficult to find comfortable locations for my arms. Ultimately, what I do is turn the pillow and use the longest side as a back support. I took the stuffing I pulled out and made my own pillow to support my neck. Lastly, the smell of the stuffing is horrible. I've used various order eliminating products to reduce the smell. Still there. Yuck. ... show more

My husband loves the body pillow. It is long and firm and soft at the same time. It gives his the support he needs at the same time, nice and soft. It’s great support for his neck and back.

The media could not be loaded. I went my first pregnancy thinking I could get by with a small wedge pillow because I was too cheap and sacrificed a lot of sleep because of it. With baby #2 I got smart and realized I could use leftover HSA/FSA funds to buy the Cadillac of pregnancy pillows. While on first sleep you may end up being worried this pillow is too stiff, by your second fairly sleepless night you’ll realize it’s perfect to give your growing body the support it needs. We’ve reached a point where my husband even tries to steal it from me. I don’t get the complaints about the cover - it‘s white, it’s obviously going to get dirty, but it’s easy to remove/replace and you can get it back to looking like the day you bought it after a good machine wash cold cycle. ... show more
