Description

Product description Germans invaded your country. Your leaders surrendered, and some are now collaborating with the enemy. Join the resistance and battle the Reich from Paris to North Africa. Medal of Honor Underground is a prequel to the successful Medal of Honor. You play as Manon, a young French girl recruited by the French resistance fighting against the coming German onslaught. The Nazis will use suppressive firing, squad tactics, tanks, half- tracks, and motorcycles to try to stop you. The game features 22 levels spread throughout seven missions, with 12 authentic weapons, including the pistol crossbow and the Panzerfaust. A new disguise mode allows Manon access to the Third Reich's most evil secrets. Artificial intelligence-controlled fellow agents will assist by battling the Gestapo, cracking safes, and driving vehicles. After fighting the Nazis across Europe and North Africa, try battling your friends in Medal of Honor Underground's split-screen multiplayer arenas. P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); Review Medal of Honor was an accomplished game by all standards, and Medal of Honor: Underground does everything to remind us what all the hype was about. This time, you play Manon, a young French Resistance girl who is aching to get some action against the oppressing German invaders.Medal of Honor: Underground is not simply a collection of further levels--there has been some thought and careful reworking to bring new features to the game. The environment is now more interactive, so more things react to being shot at, and you also get to go on cooperative missions with other allies. The overall level of AI has been improved, so the enemy is now more responsive and will react to your fire accordingly. There is a new range of weapons for Manon to use, but overall they have the same effect as the original. The sound is also highly impressive; the footsteps of approaching guards seem to echo off every wall, and the multilingual shouts add to a very encompassing gaming environment. The first-person view and controls are the same as the predecessor, which are simple and easy to get the hang of. Using the analogue stick to control the speed of your movement is noteworthy and an extremely effective task to master. Perhaps the only shortcoming of the game lies in the visual presentation: the gameplay graphics are impressive and clear, but cannot match that of the more powerful consoles. There are still a few problems with the polygon mapping, but nothing that detracts from the playability of the game. Overall, Medal of Honor: Underground has all the glory of it's predecessor and is just as addictive. If you are a fan of first-person shooters, Medal of Honor: Underground is about the best that the PlayStation has to offer. --Chris Hall -- Amazon.co.uk See more

  • One if the best console shooters of it's era!
I was in high school back when the PSX Medal of Honor games came out and had a lot of fun with the 1st game but due to being a busy teenager and a general lack of cash, I never got around to playing it's sequel, Underground. Since I've been going back and playing a lot of my old PSX games, I figured I'd bite the bullet and pick up Underground as it's still a relatively cheap retro game and WOW, am I glad I did. This game has aged really well if you are just looking for a fun 1st person shooter. Unlike Golden Eye, the controls are great as the game is dual stick compatible and with the addition of Tanks, half tracks, motorcycles and a slew of new enemy types added, this is a much more fun and exciting game than almost any other console shooter. I highly recommend if you want to play an older shooter that still offers a fun and fair challenge! Pluses: -Great music -Good enemy variety -Fantastic sound design -AI companions fight along side you in a few missions, so you're not just solo the whole game -Great controls -Numerous level designs and locations keep missions from looking too similar Minuses: -Draw distance isn't great -Levels aren't especially complex in layout -None of the fan favorite American weapons included in arsenal (no M1, BAR or Thompson) until a final, somewhat silly bonus campaingn Minimum score: 9.1 out of 10 ... show more

  • Nice Classic Game
This game works great on the PS3 Super Slim. Take time to get use to the controls. I hope to find more classic war games later from PS1 era.

  • The cream of the crop of FPS games
It really is an excellent game, maybe one of the best shooters for the PlayStation. It's arguably better than the original MOH. This was a game I honestly passed over when it came out back in 2000 when I was too busy playing games like Half-Life,Counter Strike, and Rainbow Six. The only really less enjoyable part is how the framerates really slow down. I think this game pushed the limits of the PS1. The secret levels at the end are funny and very challenging. They just don't make FPS games like this anymore. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Intended to have a 'Playstation Classic Game'
I've wanted to find a better 'Medal of Honor Classic PS1'. Unlike my previous purchase in person that I got the incorrect one which is 'Medal of Honor Frontline', this item from Amazon is correct after examined. I'm gladly that I enjoyed this game as the main playable character, 'Manon'. I'm quite happy that I found it, and enjoyed well. ... show more

  • If you loved the original...YOU'LL LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!
This is a crazy good sequel to a crazy good game! It doesn't veer away from what made the first MOH great it more or less just builds on it. This game is more intense, with more action and Bigger and badder missions! I must admit though the bonus levels are fun but absolutely ridiculous! You'll see when you get there....YEASH! haha! ... show more
