  • Relief, at last!
I've been wearing this three ways for two days now.. 1. Over a dress sock worn with leather sandals with velcro fasteners - there's no interference. 2. Over bare foot, walking barefoot on vinyl flooring. 3. Over bare foot with flip-flops - no interference there either. When I'm using it barefoot and no shoes, it feels odd at first without the extra support from the padded insole of the sandal or rubber of the flip-flop. Walking around with it that way takes some getting used to. Using this with shoes it works great. I broke my ankle a few years ago and it's been in a permanent state of being sprained, even after a long rehab. The ankle is always swollen and dark around the ankle bones. Wearing this support has relieved all the pain and soreness which comes with me being on my feet 18 hours a day. All I feel is a snug feeling of it being wrapped around my ankle and foot - excellent support for my arch and ankle. When I remove it at the end of the day, my foot and ankle feel great - no soreness and no stiffness. This does leave dimples and impressions in your skin, but they do not irritate or abrade in any way. They go away a short time after removal. The front laces up like a construction work boot - it's not stiff material like that.. it's all soft and the rest of the support straps attach with very strong velcro patches. Then there is a cuff just above the ankle that you fold across from both sides (that part with the aqua and black arrow on it).. a little like a blood pressure cuff for your arm.. also velcro. This will easily fit inside most shoes and with long pants would hardly be noticeable, until you sat down and they rode up. I wear a men's shoe/boot size 10-1/2 to 11 ... I ordered a medium size going by the shoe size chart on this page next to the photo (the chart is one of the extra photos). This fits perfectly. Whenever I wear this one out, I will definitely purchase another from this supplier - excellent product. _________________________________ Update 1-20-2017 Going on two years now and this ankle stabilizer still works very well, Surprisingly, the velcro has not worn out. These velcro pads are as sticky now as when new. Great product! __________________________________ Update 6-30-2018 Still going strong - I wear this every day with a slip-on walking shoe. ... show more

  • Glad I found this ankle stabilizer!

Glad I found this ankle stabilizer! It works very well. My ankle feels secure during hiking. Also, the design is not too bulky to fit into most athletic shoes.

  • It’s helping me recover, be up and around
Color: Black Size: Medium Style: Ankle Stabilizer
As I continue to recover from a bad sprain I’m now using this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer In oder to allow me to walk while protected and stable, finding them to be comfortable and protective. After my injuries my wife ordered this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer along with a boot from Amazon to help me heal. In both cases we are very happy with our choices. They arrived the next day thanks for Amazon Prime, and both have worked well for me. A few weeks ago I took a bad hit, spraining my right ankle and nailing my left knee (don’t ask). As I’ve recovered I’ve had to deal with a bruised foot, the sprain, and needing to support one, while not bothering the other. At this point I continue to have swelling in the ankle, deep bruising in the foot and ankle, but the need to get up and around. I’m finding this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer to be giving me the support I need, but without pain to the deep bruising. Because of the nature of my injuries I’ve been unable to actually put this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer or my previous boot on by myself. We cannot tell if this is a one person job, but throughout it’s had to be a job I cannot do from my position - so something to keep in mind, but again, it may simply be my injury. The Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer is lightweight and does not hinder my movement. It feels nice as it’s wrapped around the ankle, but again, it’s not hurting nor causing pain across the foot, though I feel protected. I am not wearing socks in these images - as you can see - but these were taken to test the size and take photos for this review. I have since worm them only with socks. While I did not find discomfort wearing no socks, I do feel I’m more comfortable walking with them WITH the socks - as if they give me a little more cushion, but also a feeling of protection. But I THINK I could go without and be fine. * I did wear them around the house that first time without socks for about an hour and I was fine. I like that the ties can be adjusted like a shoe in order to adjust tightness. We’ve worked a few times to get that just right, but it was easy to do and didn’t take too long. I feel the solid, but soft support along the ankle. It keeps me comfortable, but protected. I tried to use them in a pair of slip on casual shoes - the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer did not fit. I am using them in a pair of older gym shoes - I did not want to risk stretching my main pair of gym shoes - and find that the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer works well. My wife had to extend out the shoes and could not really tighten it all the way down - meaning the shoes do feel loose on the foot. But at this point I’m still doing limited walking. I think as I can walk more I’ll continue to use the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer at least another week, and I will have to figure out how to deal with the looser shoe. But as I need to feel protected and strength in the ankle, I’ll deal. In the end I’m very happy with the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer and will use it as long as I need it. And we’ll keep it around for any... what-if. ... show more

Color: Black Size: Medium Style: Ankle Stabilizer
My podiatrist recommended this brace for an issue I’m having with my ankle. It’s supposed to give me more stability as I heal. There are laces and a lot of straps and at first glance it looks impossible to figure out but the directions are clear and concise. After you figure it out the first time, it’s not confusing at all. There are two sizing guides and I strongly suggest you follow them both. I based the sizing on shoe size only and I think my brace is a little too big. The brace itself is nylon and comfortable to wear over a sock. I’ve been wearing it with sneakers and only had to loosen up the laces. I’ve worn it all day with no problem. It’s machine washable which is a plus. It’s available in black or white and you can wear it on either foot. This is a good brace and allows you to go about your day while protecting your ankle. ... show more

  • Great for Volleyball- Stable, but gives flexibility. Fits perfectly with Vktry shoe insoles.

Daughter uses this for sports... She was borrowing one for a while, but we decided we needed to get her own. We went with the same one because she found that this one gave her alot more support than other ones that we have tried. Will likely buy another one so she can wear them on both feet.
