I have a pair of the B. knee braces with side supports and a gel ring around the knee: life changing. They're GREAT for my knee arthritis, giving me solid support and comfort. I love those. These, not so much. I guess they give compression, but they don't have much or even any support. They're lighter, so perhaps nicer in the summer, but I still won't choose these if I'm actually doing something "active." So it depends on what your need is: if you have knee arthritis, I'd say go with the more supportive ones. Update: I still like these for times when I need less compression, but they're too darned expensive given that after a year, they're beginning to stretch out (as are the Genutrain). I wouldn't mind the investment of $100 for two Sports, and $200 for two Genutrain (since I use both), but every year --? Not so much. Pretty sure the materials that go into these cost pennies -- er, pfennigs.

The Bauerfeind sports compression knee sleeve has given really good compression. Make sure you measure accurately! It of course still may be too tight at first, but my experience with Bauerfeind knee braces shows with a few wears it stretches out a little and I need to wash them to get them back to right tighter fit. Don't put these in the dryer, that will ruin the elasticity of the compression sleeve air dry them. Now I've only ever used the knee braces, and they aren't as tight as these so, long term I'm not sure who this will do. I unfortunately am sending mine back as it made my pain increase while wearing it. Wrong item for my problem, I guess. Bauerfeind is a really good brand. My first brace was given to me by an orthopedic surgeon to prolong the need for surgery and it is working really well.

Amazingly great fit and support. I am an active 56 y/o and when my knee was injured, I did all the right things but still had pain when horseback riding (dressage). I tried a couple of tradition knee braces but they didn't stay in place during activities and then a friend suggested this company and their products. Right away, I noticed a difference in how I felt DURING the activity and AFTER the activity. I felt supported and then did not much pain after. There is some discomfort but that is due to the current injury and healing. This was the best support I found and I could keep enjoying the activities I love and not be stuck moping on the sofa. :)
