  • Find an extra wire as C wire - If you dont have a C wire, to check if has an extra wire can act as C wire, it might be pushed into the wall or wrapped around the wire bundle. Found it and connect this unused wire to the C terminal on our new thermostat, connect the other end of the C wire to the C terminal on the control board of your heating/cooling system.
  • Use G wire as C Wire - If has no extra wire as C wire, you could use G wire as the C wire for furnace that burns gas or propane (this solution does not support furnace that burns oil) and heat pump WITHOUT backup (auxiliary) heat. Find the wiring terminals G, W (or Y), C on the furnace or air-handler control board, unscrew the G terminal and move the G wire to C terminal to act as C wire. Then use a jumper wire (not included but will have) to connect the W (or Y) terminal to the G terminal for the fan control. Using the G wire in this manner means you cant run your system fan continuously. The fan will run when the system is heating (when connecting to W) or cooling (when connecting to Y).
  • Cautions!!! - Please check the system compatibility carefully before buying! Please read the installation manual especially the wiring diagrams carefully before installing. Wrong wiring might damage the thermostat! For example, if the thermostat cannot turn on when installing, please first check if it is compatible with your system. If compatible, please check if your 24VAC power is ok or maybe you need to hire a local HVAC Tech to install the thermostat for you.
  • Note - The backlight of the LCD will automatically shut off if no operation in about 30 seconds. If you press any key of the thermostat, the backlight of the LCD will illuminate again. The system clock of the thermostat will automatically synchronize with the cellphone when Wi-Fi connected successfully.

It works as described and easy setup. If you have pin hole on back of the wall plate for the mount, bewared of the thermostat 18 gauge wires that can tilted the green connectors from the board. Lucky it didn't break it after bending it back. Also, recommend add a quick guide for Wi-Fi setup instead flipping pages for the button to reset the unit. ... show more

Save your money because this is junk. I heard a scary zap sound this morning and then quickly realized that my thermostat wasn't on. Well turns out something inside of this thermostat blow up and now it's broken. The device is only 4 months old. Also I had issues with connecting a second phone to control the thermostat. It would disconnect from the first phone when I'd connect the second phone. This was extremely frustrating but I was willing to deal with it because I didn't want to fuss with disconnecting it for a refund. Now I'm kicking myself for not returning it earlier. I also hated that there wasn't a light button. The device has a light. The problem is to turn that light on you had to hit a button. The problem with that was every button does something or changes a setting. So if it's dark and I want to see what it's set to, my options are have my phone in my hand or hit a random button that changes a random setting just to make the back light turn on. I liked the idea of being able to control it from anywhere in the house. I just wish that it lasted longer than 4 months. ... show more

Easy Operation It is convenient to use the up and down buttons to control the target temperature. After successfully connecting to WiFi, it is easy to use the app to set heating or cooling modes, target temperatures, and even a 7-day weekly program.     • Stop working after a few months.
All the functions worked great. Work great with Alexa but stop working after a few months of using and no longer functions. Screen went completely dark. I had to reinstall my old Thermostat. It also went out at the worst possible time when temperature dropped below freezing.

Quit working after 8 months, while we were on vacation! Air conditioner keep running at 50 degrees. My electric bill was triple for month. Don't buy this product!
