This is just what I was looking for. It has hinges on both sides to help support My knee. I have an undiagnosed meniscus tear on the inside of my right knee. periodically it likes to pop out / lock when I am playing Basketball or when doing Tae Kwon Do. Requires me to get it back into place before continuing and can be rather painful. For me this is what I needed. It is so far the most comfortable I have tried. I have used it for about 6 months now actively playing ball twice a week and it has given me the support I need for those side to side movements that happen a lot. I cannot compare to a professional brace but I am very satisfied with the results I get when using this one. I particularly like the support from the crisscross velcro elastic both below and above the knee. Make sure you follow the instructions to measure your knee for the right size. just for reference I am 61 years old and was thinking I would be stopping playing but this has allowed me to continue playing the game I love. I also like the donut hole padding around the knee cap. it helps it to not get to hot and has helped protect my knee on multiple occasions. I would definitely recommend this brace and when mine wears out I won't hesitate to buy another one. ... show more

Product looks and feels great but sizing is an issue, I measured my knee as stated on web site and on Amazon, 14.5 in. So I ordered a medium.. to small and way to tight!! Order the next size up…I’m a little disappointed in the size but I think with the right size it’s going to be a game changer!! Very stable and holds everything in place great! Now I just need to figure out how to exchange it on Amazon and get the next size bigger…. ... show more

I bought Bracelayer pants for skiing and then slipped this over the top on my damaged knee. It worked very well - stayed in place and didn't irritate. I have to admit, my knee only lasted a few days before it swelled up (UGH), but I was at least able to ski for a while and enjoyed it!

It's well made but it runs to small, if the chart indicates large based on your measurements you probably will need an XLarge. that was in my case but remember that not all legs and knees are the same.
