TLDR: Buy this collar and change your life!!!!!! My daughter and her boyfriend adopted a shelter dog 1.5 weeks ago. First day or two, not so bad on leash - but we all know the 3/3/3 rule. By day 3, he was out-of-control pulling and EXTREMELY dog reactive (like HE walked YOU by pulling you down the sidewalk, you didn't walk him!!!) If he saw another dog, he went berserk, even though the shelter had said he was dog friendly and had been in playgroup. They were both terribly sick so I was in charge of dog walking for two nights. I'm used to walking 2 big dogs at a time, but their dog gave me a run for my money!!! I walked him 2 miles each night to try and wear him out, but it was the other way around! I had to keep my legs locked and pull back constantly to maintain control, even keeping him on a short leash did nothing. After the second night's walk, I told my daughter this is crazy, he needs a different collar and found this one. The next day (bless you, Amazon, for quick delivery!) we put it on him and it was a TOTAL GAME CHANGER and he was a TOTALLY DIFFERENT DOG! He tried to pull a little the first time we went outside and quickly stopped. The prongs are covered in rubber so he is not getting hurt (honestly, I would think the way he was pulling on his regular leash and choking himself would hurt!) The next day, my daughter's boyfriend conducted an experiment in the morning because it was too good to be true. Short walk #1 before breakfast with the Mayerzon collar - perfect dog, walked nice, barely reacted when seeing another dog. Short walk #2 after breakfast with old collar - in his words, "he lost his puppy mind" and was back to previous horrible walking behavior. He snapped on the Mayerzon collar and immediately back to perfect dog! If I could give this collar 100 stars, I would!

This made a HUGE difference. I was almost in tears at the difference. The goal is to use it till he learns not to lunge, and then to retire the collar. Sooo I never thought I'd use a prong collar (I'm a complete softie.) But my 65lb bully mix is waaaaay stronger than he looks, and he loves to chase motorcycles, bikes, even wheelchairs (anything on wheels, really.) One time he pivoted and bolted so hard that I spun around and fell into a cactus...lots of bruises and needles. I decided this is a matter of safety. I would never be able to forgive myself if my dog got hurt or someone on a motorcycle got into a wreck because my dog lunged at their bike. And it's completely unacceptable for him to freak out on people in wheelchairs. He's not actually aggressive, but he comes off as such, and I just cannot allow him to behave that way. I was at the end of my rope, and I actually have cried on many a walk with him. I didn't want to try a gentle leader, because I've heard they can cause neck injuries, and I'm almost certain this would be the case with my dog. I have tried a no pull harness with front and back leash connections, and while it gave me more control when he would lunge, it did not stop the behavior at all, so while I felt better about him not choking himself out, it did nothing to deter him from doing it. I considered sending him to a dog school (but my neighbor told me that he didn't get the results he thought he would, even after sending his puppy to school for weeks.) First I wanted to see if this last ditch effort would work before I spent thousands of dollars. It has, from what I can tell. The first night, within about 5 minutes, THREE motorcycles drove past us. The first time he did what he always does and lunged so hard that he was on his hind legs and barking, but he stopped pretty quickly. The second time he lunged, but with way less effort. The third time he had a reaction, but didn't really lunge at all, just pulled a tiny bit. I was in shock, I couldn't believe it. So I took him out again tonight, and he still pulled a little, but then would stop quickly, so he's still learning how to behave on the prong collar. Now (it seems) I don't have to worry about him lunging at bikes, other dogs, or other people; I feel like a weight has been lifted. Now obviously it will take a little time for all this to become a pattern that will lead to him not needing the collar anymore, but it's really the lesser of two evils in this case. It takes a little work to get the collar in the right spot (snuggly below his ears and higher up on the neck, but not tight, so we're working on that.) The collar seems to be high quality and comes with extra rubber prong covers. Sorry for the novel, but I feel like this collar might help some dog owners. I'd say it's like gastric bypass surgery: it's a TOOL you use to achieve desired results. You don't have to use this thing forever. Just make sure you use this collar CORRECTLY. I even did what many others do and tried it on myself. It doesn't feel good, but it's not excruciating, only uncomfortable when you tug on it. Fingers crossed I can retire this collar soon, but I am so happy to have it for the time being. Game changer.

I have all three of my dogs on prong collars because, when walking all three at once, they can easily overpower me without them—and that’s simply not something I can allow. I purchased my first set of these collars in early December 2025. My dogs have gotten two walks a day since then, and it wasn’t until mid-August 2026 that one of the adjustable fittings broke. Considering how frequently we rely on these collars, I think the durability has been very good. I do prefer the solid-colored versions over the reflective collars. With the reflective material, the tightening fitting tends to slide, whereas the fittings on the solid-colored collars stay securely in place and work exactly as they should. These collars are a little bulkier than traditional prong collars, but for me, the convenience is absolutely worth it. I’d much rather use these than constantly untangle three separate prong collars. They also aren’t quite as flexible as a traditional prong collar because the prong is incorporated into a cloth-like collar band. For that reason, I still use traditional prong collars for intentional training and individual sessions. However, for everyday walks—when my main goal is to maintain control, avoid getting overpowered, and keep three dogs from becoming completely tangled—these collars are fantastic. They have held up very well with daily use, and I’m very pleased with the solid-colored version of this product. 4 stars because the reflective colors buckle/ tightening clasp slides when it shouldn’t, and I wish there were more solid colors. Definitely worth buying, especially if walking multiple dogs!

This changed everything for my new rescue pit/boxer mix that is very strong and likes (liked?!) to pull. We left the rubber tips on and it doesn't seem to hurt her in the slightest, but the minute it went on her pulling was drastically reduced. I've been combining the collar with keeping her at my side and stopping the second there's the slightest tug on the leash and she picked it up within a week -- not only is she not pulling, she walks right by my side now. It's truly an incredible difference, we went from miserable walks where she rubbed my hands raw trying to hold on to her leash, to near perfection in record time. The only real caution I have is to measure properly! I did not, and had to constantly adjust it to get it back up into the proper position at first, now it's less of an issue since she's not pulling anymore anyway

This is a nice looking collar and the reflectivity is very good. It isn’t as effective immediately as a traditional all metal pinch collar but it does help with the pulling and I feel like he pulls less every day. It does not fall apart like the traditional pinch collars do. I feel like it is a safer collar for the dog and will train him not to pull. It is very easy to put on and take off too!

I was very apprehensive about buying a choke collar because I didn't want to hurt my sweet dog. However, he is a Jack Russell, and was very hard to control. He was a rescue dog who was dumped and wasn't used to being restrained. Finally, after a lot of debate, I broke down and decided to research them. I found this one because it didn't cut off his air supply or hurt his throat. I was Super impressed!!! Not only did he respond like a trained dog on our walks, but the fact that the collar is disguised made me comfortable using it. We have a lot of dog walkers in our community and I didn't want to be considered a bad pet parent. I can't oversell this collar which is adjustable, too. That was a real selling point because I had to buy 3 that weren't before I found this one. It's super easy to use and I really can't oversell it. It Works and is Humane!!

What a difference this collar has made with walking my 7 year old lab! Max has always wanted to be the leader of the pack and would drag me along the other end of the leash while I would attempt to walk him-he was actually walking me, lol! My Dad recommended this style collar to me, and I thought, what do I have to loose!? From the moment I put the collar on, I could sense that Max's demeanor was different - he now waits for me to lead and guide his steps on our walks, and we go almost every day now with has been beneficial to Max's overall health! I would recommended this collar to anyone who has been struggling to LEAD their dog!
