Did a lot of research for speed bag platforms and this one was the best in terms of price point, quality and customer ratings. A lot of the reviews said it didn’t come with the lag screws to mount it to wall studs and so I went to Ace Hardware in advance and bought some only to find when my package arrived and I opened up the box they had included 4 lag screws. The location I placed it at the back of my garage is a bit odd because of the space and the studs were not 8 inches apart and didn’t line up with the holes on the speed bag frame that are 24” apart and so just like a lot of other people in the reviews I bought a 2 x 4 from Ace Hardware and had it cut into two 28 inch pieces. I have some tools but I’m not particularly handy and didn’t want to risk messing things up so I got my handyman to secure the two by fours to the wall studs and the basic frame of the platform to the two by fours and I did the rest myself so I could enjoy the experience of putting the final touches together. You will need a second person to help secure the board as it’s solid…I recruited my wife and daughter to help. I’ve used a speed bag 10 years ago and was still teaching myself at the time so I’m very rusty but my initial impressions as a novice are the materials are all solid so far (obviously the true test will be how everything holds up over time). Some reviewers complained about the swivel or the bag but I’m assuming this may be intermediate to advanced users who may be more picky with certain nuances. My initial use has found no issue with the responsiveness of the swivel or bag and no vibration/rattling from the platform that others have reported as the board is heavy duty…only problem was my lack of skill. The instructions aren’t the best (they rarely are) but the set up is not rocket science so it’s pretty straightforward. I will say the pump that comes with the bag is absolutely horrible and I’m glad I have a bicycle pump as it would have taken forever to inflate the bag with the one provided! Initially I thought the bag was defective because no matter how hard I pumped with the provided pump the bag was still as flat as a pancake! So far I’m very pleased with the look and feel of everything and it’s a great addition to my home gym that I’ve wanted for a while and now finally added to my wife’s chagrin! ... show more

Been using this every day since I put it up. Great set up. Never had an issue. I had to use wd40 just once to stop the squeaking. Mount works great and the swivel is flawless. Looks good on the wall, and is so easy to master. Highly recommend this.

I've had this for about two years now and it has held up like a champ. Even though I managed to strip one of the bolts of its threading while installing it (hence the low rating on the ease of installation) it has held sturdy through a lot of hours of use. It only wobbles at certain angles, and even then it's not enough to throw off my rhythm. I still get a full workout every time I use it and I love it to this day. My favorite form of cardio. The bag is solid and I only have to reinflate it about every few weeks or so and the swivel works really well. I installed this in my garage and we have really cold winters here, yet it never broke nor did it become loose or in bad shape at all through the cold. REally happy with the quality. ... show more

    • Solid and worth the money
The media could not be loaded. I'm still a beginner on the speedbag but it's become my favorite workout. I had a Everlast one that was on a heavy bag stand and I was able to learn on it but that's about it. It was loud and bounced everywhere. I decided to upgrade and knew I wanted something solid that adjusted. I chose this one and I'm very very happy with it. It's very solid witch is the most important thing and the swivel and bag actually surprised me for the price. Better than my other one I spent 100$ on. It's smoth and predictable. If your unsure about the quality or anything don't be it's very well made way superior to my Everlast stuff that now sits in the corner. Hope this helps somebody. ... show more

Here are some things they don't tell you. Number one, they do not provide the bolts to attach it to the wall This isn't so bad. But if you open everything up anticipating putting this together only to find out you now have to drive to the hardware store to get these. It kind of puts a kink in your plans. It's fine if you don't want to provide them. Just tell us in advance. Number two. The one inch pine boards used to attach it to the wall are two small if your wall studs are 24 inches apart(standard on most homes & garages. The boards aren't even big enough if you want to drill your own holes. Therefore, my options were either open up the wall the add more studs. Or buy my own 1inch pine boards and cut them myself so they can reach the studs. I wasn't about to open up the wall. This is a great product. But turned into a huge project just to mount it to the wall. Updated this review. The speed bag popped after one week. ... show more
