Did a lot of research for speed bag platforms and this one was the best in terms of price point, quality and customer ratings. A lot of the reviews said it didn’t come with the lag screws to mount it to wall studs and so I went to Ace Hardware in advance and bought some only to find when my package arrived and I opened up the box they had included 4 lag screws. The location I placed it at the back of my garage is a bit odd because of the space and the studs were not 8 inches apart and didn’t line up with the holes on the speed bag frame that are 24” apart and so just like a lot of other people in the reviews I bought a 2 x 4 from Ace Hardware and had it cut into two 28 inch pieces. I have some tools but I’m not particularly handy and didn’t want to risk messing things up so I got my handyman to secure the two by fours to the wall studs and the basic frame of the platform to the two by fours and I did the rest myself so I could enjoy the experience of putting the final touches together. You will need a second person to help secure the board as it’s solid…I recruited my wife and daughter to help. I’ve used a speed bag 10 years ago and was still teaching myself at the time so I’m very rusty but my initial impressions as a novice are the materials are all solid so far (obviously the true test will be how everything holds up over time). Some reviewers complained about the swivel or the bag but I’m assuming this may be intermediate to advanced users who may be more picky with certain nuances. My initial use has found no issue with the responsiveness of the swivel or bag and no vibration/rattling from the platform that others have reported as the board is heavy duty…only problem was my lack of skill. The instructions aren’t the best (they rarely are) but the set up is not rocket science so it’s pretty straightforward. I will say the pump that comes with the bag is absolutely horrible and I’m glad I have a bicycle pump as it would have taken forever to inflate the bag with the one provided! Initially I thought the bag was defective because no matter how hard I pumped with the provided pump the bag was still as flat as a pancake! So far I’m very pleased with the look and feel of everything and it’s a great addition to my home gym that I’ve wanted for a while and now finally added to my wife’s chagrin!

The MaxxMMA Speed Bag Platform is Awesome! Solid build. Amazing Super Sonic 3 Bearing system is lightning Fast! Short "U" Swivel! with quick release Pin! that has a bearing for quick Bag exchange. Instead of bicycle chain types or cotter pin swivels. The 1 1/2 inch Wood Platform is great. I originally thought I'd have to add an additional 2x24. But I just added 42lbs of Rubber Dumbbells to the top and it feels amazing. I did upgrade to a smaller, Leather Speed Bag of course. But my only gripe is that it should have been made a little longer To Bottom for better height adjustments. It's height adjustments are ok for me. But not sure about other users? I am just glad it didn't come with the longer, cheaper "U" swivel. Bc some other sites show same platforms. But different swivels. So I'm glad I got the one with the swivel that's been Updated. I hope MaxxMMA updates All of these platforms with the quick release 3 bearing system. For other buyers. The swivel has side bearings, neck bearings, and a bearing in the quick bag adjustment pin for the shorter "Swivel U". The U is nice and thick. The bag doesn't wobble or go off center. Giving you greater stability. Well worth the price. I paid $199.99 I see other sites selling this for $399.99 So buy on Amazon!!! Again Highly Recommended!

I've had this for about two years now and it has held up like a champ. Even though I managed to strip one of the bolts of its threading while installing it (hence the low rating on the ease of installation) it has held sturdy through a lot of hours of use. It only wobbles at certain angles, and even then it's not enough to throw off my rhythm. I still get a full workout every time I use it and I love it to this day. My favorite form of cardio. The bag is solid and I only have to reinflate it about every few weeks or so and the swivel works really well. I installed this in my garage and we have really cold winters here, yet it never broke nor did it become loose or in bad shape at all through the cold. REally happy with the quality.

This is a well made, solid spped bag platform. Its nice and thick. Fairly easy to assemble and hang. The swivel is very fluid. I didn't really care for the bag. The rebound was very inconsistent. I put a slightly smaller, leather bag in its place and that made all the difference. I really like this setup.

I did a lot of researching for a decent set up. I knew I didn't want something that would rattle, but didn't want to pay $400 plus for a high end set up. This is a great compromise. Comes with a nice and heavy 1.5 inch board and solid mounting system. I had to add 2x4s to mount it to, but that was easy. I was able to set it all up by myself, just took a little thought. Hint..., screw the boards to the wall, install the 2 vertical pieces only putting the top screws in loosely, then mount the rebound board to the triangle pieces, and slide onto the 2 vertical pieces and screw it all together. Seems like really good quality rebound board and bag..... definitely good enough for a beginner like me. Highly recommend

Very solid assembly. Purchased the Everlast Elite set and it ripped in 2 days of using. Read reviews and got this instead. This is high quality and the swivel’s bearing assembly allows for fast movements. The Speed bag itself has far better material as well.
