I got this for a 150lb, 6-foot heavy bag for practicing Muay Thai. I installed it by connecting two studs using 3 pieces of 2x4 and attached the hanger to the connecting pieces. From there the installation was straightforward and the included hardware has been sturdy. The hanger has a quality feel to it based on the weight. I installed it in my laundry room where there's plenty of space, so I like that I could potentially swing the hanger to the side to minimize the footprint of the heavy bag, even if I haven't felt the need to do so yet. ... show more

excellent so far. Installation was a breeze. I have a large water drop bag that is brutally heavy. At full extension, both lateral and vertical, this structure doesnt even flinch at holding the bag affter long hard sessions. One month so far. lets hope it stays that way

I did a fair amount of research before I purchased this. Went and got a 8$ 2x4 and 6$ in some 2" lagbolts. Installed and setup in about 15-20 minutes. I then waylaid on the back with some tie kicks and punches and ended it with me swinging on the thing like Miley Cyrus. Worth the money. Stable. Highly functional. 100lb bag + 200lbs idiot = 300lbs of no problem for the thing. ... show more

We really needed a good strong swing hinge. But the jib crane swing arms were really expensive! So we ordered this and with a little modification its exactly what we needed and 1/4 of the price. We swapped out the extension bar with a peice of metal racking, so ours is now a 4' long swing instead of the 2' it originally was. And even at double the length it's still solid. Bc the mounting holes in the bracket are so far apart you can't get them all in a stud in the wall. So we mounted a 8" board first to the stud then mounted the swing arm to the stud board. It's jot going anywhere now! ... show more

Tried to hang it multiple times (as can be seen above) with drywall screws rated up to 100lbs each but each punch just wiggled it out further and further. Almost wanted to return it but ended up getting some 2x4s and directly screwing them into studs and then mounting it onto that. It's fully extended (height) and holds up well with my 100lbs bag. Only downside of it is it wobbles a bit when punching but not really an issue. Also, get a spring to dampen noise and force on the walls ... show more

The actual mounting bracket seems strong, however, if you are planning to mount this on a wood framed wall… It will not work the way it is delivered. Wall studs are 16” apart and you can only mount one side of the bracket to a stud, requiring the other side to be mounted with drywall anchors. It would be nice if the manufacturer had the option to purchase a bracket that would reach two studs 16 inches apart. However, because it does not, you need to fabricate one yourself out of 2x4s. ... show more
