I wouldn't use this (alone) to attach to a bumper, then pull a trailer with. I used this to attach a hitch mount vice to a workbench. Plenty heavy duty for this purpose.

I have two of these, but I turn them upright to use as brackets for my trailer's 16 foot flagpole and for the motion sensing solar lighting pole on the rear of the camper. Work very well. Drop the poles in and just hand tighten the set screw. Easy peasy.

    • WRONG HARDWARE SHOWN IN PHOTO
Item hardware is incorrect. The screws shown in the photo are not the screws that ship with the item. In the photo the threads extend nearly 3/4 of the bolt, the ones recieved only extent around 1/4 of the way leaving the product unusable for my uses in the current configuration and leading to my having to purchase supplemental hardware to attach the product. This is more Amazon's failure as the manufacturer made an amazingly strong well welded reciever plate. Solid welding all around, gussets for support and a set screw to help keep things tight. All the things that you would want, however having to purchase auxiliary hardware due to an outdated or misleading photo is the only reason for the 3 star review. ... show more

This is the perfect solution to having our bikes with us while vacationing with our travel trailer. Very easy to mount onto the bumper of the trailer and the bike rack fits perfectly into the 2" receiver. No longer have to lift the bikes into the back of the truck.
