Description

CURT OEM-style gooseneck hitches are built to excel in two key things: ease of installation that comes from an ingenious design and safe, reliable towing even with heavy-duty gooseneck trailers. The Ram-compatible gooseneck hitch boasts a one-person installation. It is built with fewer pieces than competitor hitches to keep installation simple, and the pieces are designed to be compact so they can be lifted and bolted into place without the help of a second person. We've also eliminated a number of steps from the process to speed up installation time and reduce the number of modifications needed on the vehicle. The hitch does not require the exhaust or spare tire to be lowered. It requires no welding, temporary truck bed removal or even bed flange trimming. Best of all, pre-existing factory holes are used to mount the hitch to the truck's frame, meaning the only drilling necessary is for the gooseneck ball hole and safety chains in the truck bed. Once installed, the OEM-style gooseneck hitch for Ram offers simple operation and highly secure towing. It is tested in accordance with SAE J2638 to safely tow up to 35,000 lbs. GTW. Instead of a side handle mounted under the wheel well, it uses a latch-locking trailer ball. This patented 2-5/16" ball easily drops into the gooseneck head from above the truck bed and is secured in place with a simple quarter-turn of the latch. This Ram gooseneck hitch also features heavy-duty 5/8" safety chain anchors for dependable security for your trailer, whether you're towing livestock, machinery or construction materials. Installed in a 2024 Ram 2500 in about 4 hours. Works well to attach our 5th wheel hitch to. Love the simple lift.latch to remove the ball. Only recommendation would be to drill a slightly smaller hole in the bed. The listed hole size is barely covered by the rubber plug. Also, had to purchase a swivel for my impact to tighten the bolts. Install was fairly easy. The ball is strong but I'd recommend hitting it with some WD-40 every few uses if you plan to take it out of the bed. You're going to need a long heavy duty torque wrench with a flex head. The only down side is the passenger side saftey chain loop vibrates against the exhuast. I ended up just putting a block under the loop to keep it raised. Also be careful with the wheel speed sensor wires. I pinched a wire by accident on the back side of the bracket between the frame and the fuel tank because I couldn't see it. ... show more

Don’t buy this. The fit and finish on it are horrible. My hole saw cut thru the inside of circle first so the raw steel is not the issue. The size of the hole they have you drill and how it fits to the hitch is horrible. There is also about a 3/4” gap under the bed to the hitch. It does not sit up tight to the bed. This is going to allow the bed to cave in around the hole and allows a lot of item to fall thru. I wish I would have looked more closely at how it was going to come together but figured with directions like what were included and it being a major manufacturer it would be good to go. Definitely thought the bed would sit on and be supported by the hitch I added a picture of one of my old B&W hitches. They fit tight and great. I’d go that route or get a factory set up. Now I have to get a piece fabricated so my bed doesn’t cave in around the hitch and to clean it up so everything that’s in the bed doesn’t fall out. Wish I could give 0 stars.
