Description

A CURT front trailer hitch allows you to use the front end of your vehicle for a variety of towing applications. They can be used for mounting a winch, a snow plow, a number of towing accessories and can even be used for some trailering applications. When space is limited, a front trailer hitch is commonly used to hold a cargo carrier, freeing up space inside the vehicle for extra cargo and making the rear mount receiver available to pull a trailer. At the boat ramp, your boat trailer can be hitched up to the front receiver hitch, giving you better control over the trailer as you launch. Some of the other accessories that can be used with a front tow hitch are the CURT winch mount, step pad, license plate holder, spare tire mount, skid shield and tow hooks. All CURT front trailer hitches provide a useful receiver tube to accept a 2" x 2" shank, and they are commonly used on trucks, vans and SUVs. This front trailer hitch is rated for 5,000 lbs. GTW and 500 lbs. TW. It also has a straight-line pull rating of 9,000 lbs. It is designed to be a custom trailer hitch for certain years of the Ford Expedition, Ford F150 and Lincoln Navigator (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see application info). It comes with all necessary hardware for a complete installation and is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

  • Nice hitch with one drawback
This is a quality hitch however, on my 2013 f150 it doesn't stick past the bumper far enough for my winch on a multi-mount. I have had to order a hitch extension. It's probably good for a bike or cargo rack but I wish it stuck out about 4-5 inches farther at the front of the bumper. It did go in really easy. I actually used a brass hammer to spread the wings on it slightly before installing it and I taped the washers to the hitch wings rather than too the frame. It slipped right in and bolted right on. It looks great I just wish it stuck out a little farther for my winch. Hopefully my extension works for the winch cradle although I know it will reduce the pulling power as it is another link in the system that reduces the strength. I can't wait to get the extension and start having the winch with me when I am in the mountains. I would still buy it even though I have to now purchase the extension to use my winch. It seems very well built and very strong. Overall, very satisfied. I know it will be a great addition to my truck. ... show more

  • Perfect fit, easy to install
Ordered and arrived quickly. Instructions were super detailed and easy to understand. I dry fitted the hitch to see how the process would be and it was dead on! Bolted it up, torqued as per manufacturer specs and it was a done deal. Now I can use my pop up camper and tow our bikes up front. Curt Manufacturing did it again, thanks!! ... show more

  • Great front hitch!
Bought this for a 2014 F150 supercrew 4x4 with 5.0 engine. The purpose was for a quick strong receiver mount to attach a slide in hitch made from 2X2X1/4 Square tubing slide in mount attached to a homemade Hatteras surf rack. It performs nicely for that! Held all my gear and a heavy Grizzly ice chest full of ice and fish with ease. Fairly simple to install on this truck, but it was a very tight fit on the frame. A little pry bar action was necessary to "spread" the mounting flanges but it went up and aligned with the intended attachment points. The air dam has to be removed for this to go on and a small trim out of secondary plastic air dam is necessary to gain access to the reciever tube. The instructions are pretty straight forward. I recommend getting a buddy to help get it in position as it is tough for one to do from one side of a ground level vehicle. I did have the front end up on blocks but it was still a squeeze for me. Best to get the vehicle up at least a foot or more. By myself getting the truck up and finishing the installation took me about an hour and a half. Lots of other uses to mount other racks or a hitch with a 2X2 square tube slide in. ... show more

  • Great product
Installation was fairly easy. Mounted on a Ford F150 front mount assembly for my snow blade attachment. For installation the kit included two spring wires to maneuver the two back mount bolts into place. This worked extremely well. Could not have assembled mount without these spring wires. Most difficult part was holding the mount in place during assembly. I used an hydraulic floor jack to position and hold the mount in place. This worked well. Although most of us guys don’t like to read the instructions my advice is to read them as they were quite succinct and made installation easy. ... show more

  • Easy install
I'm a beat up old guy on oxygen but I still managed to install this thing pretty easily! Fit pretty tight and needed a good wack to get it in place but everything worked out fine. Here's a trick though. The instructions have you on your back underneath the truck beating yourself up. Yeah, there's a little of that BUT you can do most of the work from the top under the hood once you have one bolt in the hole. Tighten them all from above so you don't get a mouth full of road grit... ... show more

  • Super fast and easy to install with these tips.
Installed in under 30 mins. Tip: (2013 f150) dry fit it to the frame and it will stay because it's snug. You dont have to align the screw holes at this point. This will allows you to mark the facsia for cutting. I didn't bother taping the washers onto the frame you can put the bolt through just enough to put the washer on and then lift the part into place. Fishing the rear bolts was a breeze with the supplied wire. Feed the coil end through the bolt hole rather then coming through the opposite way it's much easier. Again it stays snug to the frame so no need for a second person or a floor jack but in order to use a long torque wrench you will need to jack the truck. ... show more

  • AN EXTENSION IS NEEDED ON 2010's, ETC!!
Four stars due to how recessed the end is under the 2010 F150, and similar years. See pictures. You can use an extension which will reduce the rated weights. It also pushes the front valance up, distorting its shape on the 2010. This will vary on other years. I ended up trimming the valance as this hitch sleeve will meet my needs. The rock guard can be reinstalled afterwards. ... show more
