Ithought these would be a good idea to use when I wanted to plant flower bulbs or predrill holes in the ground for wooden stakes. These augers work perfect. I can't really say how they would work in rough ground. I have sandy soil and no restrictions underground when I plant things. They seem to be fairly well built and easily dig a good hole in roughly a minute. They come in a decent cardboard box with form fitting packaging inside.. So I am leaving them in the box because it's handy. I don't foresee any of the 3 augers breaking or even how they could break. I'm glad I bought them. They'll come in real handy this fall when we plant 5 dozen tulip biulbs.

I bought this to make it easy for making hopes in ground for planting. I started using them the day it arrived. Just love it! The box, although paper and not so sturdy, had a nice piece inside. I am going to use it on a wood case. Well worth it.

I like the option of having different sizes depending on what my need is. It chucks into the drill easy and works perfect for my needs of turning/aerating our compost pile and planting larger flower bulbs in the garden

I used these to plant my seedlings in my garden. Work very well had very good results and they seem to be well made easy to clean the box they came in although cardboard turned out to be a useful story device as it has compartments in it for each individual size definitely would recommend these

These are perfect for me. I have very poor soil in my garden so I got these so I could put holes in and around my plants so that the water will soak in. I didn't want to use a shovel or pitch fork as they would disturb the plants and so these are great.

OMG, did this work great for removing stubborn weeds from my lawn while saving my back and knees from wear and tear. I had no trouble with this except having to remember to reverse the drill in order to pull auger bit out. Some have mentioned that their auger bent after hitting rocks but I hit plenty of rocks and my auger stayed straight and strong. Overall impression: reasonable cost, strong metal, easy to use and I would recommend these.
